I think the last drop of immersion was lost when you saw the Omega intergallactic spaceship pewpewzoom megamissilespam interdimensional primal dragon go brrrrr kaboom pewpewpew brrrrrt......
after starting a "mmo rpg" in your dirty clothes, being lvl 1, having nothing but your basic weapons fighting tiny rats and ladybugs.
Went from D&D to StarTrek 0-100.

So new to the game, and FF14 lore in general but I always remembered it having space fantasy feature pretty prominently, doomsday weapons etc... the entire premise being that of a technological world with magic.
Also correct me if im wrong but to my understanding the allagan tomestones we are collecting are basically like... SSD's those super advanced dudes left for us?

I mean, Cid Highwind wears cargo pants a t-shirt and denim jacket. Modern clothing has been in the franchise for a long time.

Sure, it's a fantasy setting with Elves, Dragons and knights in full suits of armor carrying swords. But it also has cars and mechs and guns and laser beam weapons.

Wearing a t-shirt, jeans and leather jacket like Squall isn't really that immersion breaking when you really think about it.

I think maybe you have a different idea of what this game/ franchise's fantasy should be.
