Scum? There are plenty of scum in the world that still despise pedophilia.

I'm sure that is the case, but who in here supports it? Just because I accept that kids will do this, does not mean I'm like "Yay and cheering" it is more on the line of, well text is better than real. So I can just hope that they are raised well enough not to take risks.

Like I said, this subject is just a feel good subject to be upset about. It also brings up some harsh memories of my childhood as I said before. We can all say it is wrong and I admit it was wrong on the first or second page. Does anyone have a answer on how to stop kids from being sexual active online? Because you can't.

If you can't stop it, and you understand teens are very sexual active. Doing it with no risk to their body is the lesser evil.

I'm talking about the mods here. You keep going back to the ERP involving minors.

    - It is on both the person using the mods to not engage with minors and also on the parents of the minor to be involved in their internet habits.

    - I love how this went from a convo about NSFW mods and people using them to take photos for social media to ERP and minors being solicited. Ya'll are aware they are 2 totally different things right? One doesn't automatically mean the other is taking place.
Maybe you should tell your friend here not to talk about it. No, it is not on the parents that their kids are playing a T game and are a T.

Anyway, I am talking about individual responsibility. Of course they won't do it. If they did, they would not have made or used these mods in the first place, because no responsible person would do that. I don't actually expect any of them to do the right thing, but they argue nothing can be done. However, that is not true. They can simply stop doing it, and most certainly don't post it on Twitter all the time. It shouldn't be about what you think you can get away with, and instead it should be about what is right.

There is a legal way for SE to handle this, but it is a really sucky method, but it could come down to that or worse.

Sorry, two topics by groups of people.

To me it is pixels and I can't see it.. Someone making a case about if it becomes wildly spread, but um rule 4 stuff and art is i bet even more wide spread. So ehhhh hard to make that case.

I wasn't planning to reply but oh well.

Yes it is on the parents to monitor their children & TEENAGERS on the internet. They are not adults and are not able to make the same educated decisions that an adult would. Therefore, the parents should 100% be involved and it shouldn't even be a question of whether or not they should be involved. If you're trying to give parents a free pass to be lazy in their kids lives while shoving 100% of the responsibility on other people....oh boy that's the real problem here.

It's a two way street. It's on both. It always has been. It's on modders to try to keep their content as close to an adult audience as possible and on parents to monitor their kids and help them stay safe online.

You can ban mods off FF but lewd images and things will still crop up in other forms. Hell, there's websites dedicated to it. If you don't want the teenagers in your life to see it, have some personality responsibility and put in parental controls.

I hate spyware to a massive degree and I am a major privacy advocate on a great many things but the alternative is worse. If people can't be trusted to do the right thing, what other choice will SE have, outside shutting down the servers? If people don't want SE to respond, they should not back them into a corner.

I certainly would not put SE on the same levels as say Google or the US and UK governments, when it comes to people's privacy.

It's a game rated T. Stop using the internet as an excuse for this type of behavior. Teens will do stuff on their own. An adult should not be bringing that to teens. That adult that does bring it to teens is responsible. They are the ones doing it. You complained being off topic over the ERP with teens, but you bring it back up and pretended I was talking about the internet in general or Twitter.

As for the modders, they clearly don't care what people see on the cesspool of the internet Twitter, adult or child. That is a major issue. That's bad for SE, which is also bad for the player base. The minor stuff is outright illegal.

SE literally will not put anything on our computers. Yoshi has said this multiple times. I'd be happy to even include a link to an interview he did last year saying that they still will not put anything on our computers. The end. Let's move on from this instead of beating a dead horse.

Second off, this is the internet and people will do whatever they want. I'm sorry to break it to you. I know it's probably not what you want to hear but unfortunately that is what people do on the internet. There are nude mods for numerous amounts of games, a lot of them ALSO including an underage audience (even if they're rated M because let's be real...who hasn't begged their parents to get them a game not rated for them?).

I'll say it again, it's on both. Modders to properly keep their mods to an adult audience and parents to help their kids stay safe online and away from that side of the internet (i.e. parental controls....they literally exist for a reason).

At the end of the day, sexual stuff is going to be on the internet. If they don't look at FF's stuff, there are dozens of pron sites and hentai available as an alternative. Do you expect the pron industry to just not make pron anymore because kids could stumble on it? Absolutely not. That's where parents come in to block the content they don't want their kids to see.

Times change. SE will do what it has to do. It would not be the first time SE changed its mind on anything.

Why do you keep expanding things to other games and other things on the internet? We are talking about FFXIV, when it comes to the teens. Stop talking about other stuff in an attempt to muddy the waters. We are only talking about the mod screenshots, when it comes to Twitter, which doesn't involve IRL teens but the characters that are minors. These are two completely different subjects.

Say it again all you want, they should not post anything on Twitter. it's not hard to not post stuff.

Maybe I need to say it a few more more times. I am not talking about what teens see on the general internet. I am not talking about what teens see on the general internet. I am not talking about what teens see on the general internet. Did you get it yet?

And if said parent reports that person will be ban, or perhaps even something more serious. This is like in real life with night clubs, even if said club check ID and only allow adults if a minor fake one and go in the person that had any kind of intimacy with said minor is the one in big trouble. Saying: "is not my problem it's the parents problem" is big brain stupidity just waiting to cash out at some point or another.
