Nothing needs to be done about it. If this is how people enjoy spending time. That is ok. RP is about freedom, and shape by the community. This game has some pretty dark tones when it comes to this type of stuff anyway.


Why do people want to go after others fun? It is pixels and not real. If it goes OOC just turn it down and be flattered or something. Are we really going to gate keep peoples way of rp and having fun? SE can't do a thing about these mods. And if you don't like this sort of thing. Than leave the people alone that do.

My husband and I don't rp, but we enjoy it when we see it because we treat them like npcs that make the world feel more immersive. That is it, what they do behind closed doors just like real life is no concern of mine, and I don't want to ruin it.

I think its less about the erp community and more about the nsfw mods and what they could bring. As I said, people take lewd photo's of lalafells, twins and ryne and gaia and post them on twitter, discord and other places.
FF14 is getting way more popular and these lewd mods are just gonna be bad press if SE doesn't show theyre doing something about it.

In an ideal world, this would be fine, kept behind closed doors or whatever. However, history shows game companies become responsible for the things their games are capable of. I remember specifically Rockstar getting in trouble because a mod (hot coffee mod) enabled erotic play in one of their GTA games. This caused the game to lose its rating and become an Adults only game, including a ban of the game in some countries.

Most MMOs keep a nude version of characters for modeling purposes (not detailed, like a Barbie). This alone caused minor problems for Guildwars and they had to adjust files to obfuscate their model better.

So, yeah, I think YoshiP has every right to be both concerned and rather strict about it.

If you watch the video, though, the modder explicitly states that content centered around the lalas and the twins is heavily frowned upon within their community. You're talking about the dysfunctional fringe of the fringe here. The stuff that gets posted on Twitter and Discord should be moderated on Twitter and Discord. I don't think SE is obligated to police every single piece of fan art posted on third party sites.
