As I said noone is saying let pedos be pedos. All we are saying is that this issue is not so black and white. Ryne has no rights, Pedos is also a sickness, that you can't just magical turn off like some people think. And from what I was told about RPers. If they do something with a minor, They don't know about it because they try to respect ooc. Crazy how that works huh? I think most people if they wanted to do a background check, they would rather do it to find the gender, than worry about the age lol.



I really do think. "Protect the kids" came up because besides the devs not wanting people to do it. They feel like they have a moral high ground to stand on to punish and get rid of these mods that they don't use and or can't use. So it is easier to attack people, and the issue when you got little kids as a backing on why it is bad.

Plenty of times you have to go OOC, you can't just do anything to other's characters so you ask for permission. Some things will also be clarified OOC, Going AFK, Having to go, etc.
Having a quick chat with the person behind the character takes away nothing before you start a scene, especially if it's the kind that has erotic involvement.

This isn't about Ryne's rights, it's about not sexualizing children's bodies, whether real or fictional period. If nothing can be done about Pedophiles that doesn't mean they should be unsupervised and just wait until something bad happens because oh well. There's a reason they get put on a list, would you be comfortable leaving your kid alone with people who have these thoughts? Probably not. I think most of us have a lot stronger feelings about what should be done with these people but that wouldn't fly in a public discourse.

Also.. arguing for using mods on a public forum for the game that forbids mods, is kind of putting a target on your back, no? Like no amount of talking will ever make it an okay thing. If you ever post a screenshot with your name on it, or talk about it in-game you'll find the likelyhood of getting banned increasing. Again, most people couldn't care less for mods, nor erp, and no we aren't correlating that people who do either have anything to do with children, but there are people defending nsfw mods depicting children, and how pedophiles really are the victims here, because you can't change your "wiring", maybe think about that and stop with the strawmans.

Is this really a game problem though? If it has been around since chat rooms, this is mostly an online problem and one that can't be fixed. Like I said it is mostly a parent issue, not a final fantasy, community or developer issues. That is the only thing that can work.

And about the mods. Ryne is not real, so don't care what people do to her.

The community seems like they want to see no evil. They rather it be done out of the game than in the game. Yet that does not fix the problem, it only makes you feel good about the issue.

They say stuff that seems okay like “Games, fun, 10million giveaway, house remodeling party!” and when you go to it, it’s just all ERP and advertisements no mention of ERP or +18 in the PF. I was quite disappointed, and a kid could easily stumble into that.
There wasn’t even a 10million giveaway either unless they were giving away 10mil worth of girls, I didn’t stick long enough to find out, and when I left, the Lalafell bouncer followed me out and emote-spammed at me. Was weird.

I was going to post about this earlier actually. The GMs started cracking down, so a lot of these venues started obfuscating their true intentions via advertisements. Linking third party websites with "cards" or something like that, showcasing NSFW mods, and what services their venue or their "employees" offer.

Just a side note:
The GMs do take 3rd party links into consideration for these types of things if they're posted by the PF advertiser themselves. They won't look at it if it's presented to them by another person due to photoshopping being a risk. So, if someone has rates for courts in their PF through a carrd or other external website, you can report them.

Unfortunately, they had 3 different people doing the advertising, one in PF, and two others with copy-pasted stuff that they would post whenever someone walked in, so I can’t really report for that, I think.

Might I say the tags for this thread is amazing?

Also, for those “ERP with potential minors” supporters out there, it states in the Terms of Service “ The Game is for players aged 13 and older. You agree to behave accordingly.” I’m not sure if ERP, and advertising ERP services using lewd mods, is behaving accordingly.

And if there’s nude, or sufficiently lewd characters/acts on those websites, and you sent someone a link to it, or pictures, and the person you sent them to are underaged? Congratulations, you committed the crime of distributing pornographic material to a minor.

And we are back to guns...le sigh to attempt to reign it back to the topic at hand, is it really so hard to come to the agreement that one should treat 14 as a public square so to speak and act accordingly? It's your responsibility not to erp in a space where minors might be present and it's your responsibility not to use and promote mods that damage the image of the game and are of questionable legality.

In an ideal world yes, but this is far from an ideal world which means as an individual or in this case a parent it becomes your responsibility to do what you can to minimize potential threats and risks.

To be fair, the thread should have arguably been locked already by this point. I checked and it's been ten days since its creation - and it's been on the front page for that long which really isn't a good look at a time when there's a huge influx of new players.
