I can't remember the last time I've even seen anything like this in game. I'm sure it happens, but I don't think it's as big as a problem as some are being led to believe.I’ve seen these white knights go on the attack myself. This community has an awful problem with the so called ‘good guys’ being awful people when trying to wear their capes. Between verbal abuse, threatening to report for the sake of an attempted ban, or even suggesting to intentionally wipe a raid so the cut scene watcher can experience that first raid wide mechanic. Is this good form?
This community claims to be so amazing, but it shows so much hostility. I already see it in this thread from Snork. I’m sure others will come
I always try to wait for folks viewing cutscenes, but I've had a handful of occasions where I absent-mindedly forget to check and ended up pulling a boss. In a few of those instances someone did get pretty nasty with me, without even considering that I may have just made a mistake.
A lot of people that white-knight or otherwise immediately become aggressive without consideration for the situation are really just conflict-seekers feigning a moral purpose. They're the same kind of people that engage in "righteous", toxic behavior like "you pull it you tank it", without considering that the person they are trying to 'punish' may have simply made a mistake.
In any case, you should wait for cutscenes generally. It's a basic courtesy and long, in-dungeon cutscenes are exceptionally rare these days.

Pulling let alone skipping cutscenes is why you have the two ending dungeons in ARR have unskipable cutscenes. We have a lot of new people playing the game. Knowing people are fighting while you watch cause the fight music will filter into the CS can make people feel rushed. We'll be seeing a lot of people watching the CSes for the first time come November. Also it'd be nice to give a count down so that people can do prepull prep for their openers. Some people have the skip cutscene after you've seen it box checked so that one time might be the only time they get to see it.
If you don't have enough time to do something that's not quicker than Syrcus to allow people to watch a cutscene then maybe do something quicker in game. Pulling while people are in cutscenes is also why we have an auto teleport into the fight now. AS it used to be where once the boss was pulled and the 15 seconds before the arena was sealed off was up anyone not inside was locked out of the fight. You seem to have never seen some poor sap die to stuff just as they got out of a cutscene. Let the new person enjoy their first time.
When i'm farming content, Reginae for example, i'm not waiting for cutscenes every single time..
When i'm in a dungeon I don't mind waiting because it just takes 10 seconds, but i'm not waiting 1 minute +
No. Pulling while someone is watching the cutscene is wrong full stop. Stop making excuses for bad behavior. Someone watching the cutscene is going through the quest for the first time almost every time and making it so they can’t experience the full dungeon including the pulls is wrong. Not only do you put pressure on them because they get a message telling them they will be locked out of the arena soon, but you completely ruin any sense of immersion they get when playing a duty for the first time.
I have a full time job and have travel time too. I also have a baby I take care of. My gaming time is every bit as precious as yours, but I won’t sit there and ruin someone else’s only chance for a first time because I can’t be bothered to wait. You are getting the benefit of running this in DF and that means you should be ready for things to take a little longer for that benefit.
No it doesn’t matter how many times you’ve run it or how old it js. It is content that people are still playing through and should be allowed to experience as a whole without people like you ruining it for them. I ended up quitting the game the first time I played because people like this wouldn’t let me watch the cutscenes the first time I went through Castrum and Prae. It is the most disheartening thing a new player can experience and thinking your game time is more valuable than others experiences is toxic as far as I’m concerned.
Honestly they should just make all duty finder cutscenes unskippable if people bin the community are still trying to defend this kind of behavior.
As a new player myself, I appreciate when the group doesn't plow through everything mindlessly. I don't personally watch cut-scenes in dungeons, but there have been some occasions where I fall a little behind due to being unfamiliar with the dungeon or taking half a second to give gear that dropped a quick look over and the tank barrels forward and pulls the boss. I find that rather rude and inconsiderate, but I never spoke up nor had anyone else say something.
My general take on this is pretty simple: just wait for them to finish the cutscene, it's only a few seconds of your time. If you can't handle those extra seconds, don't use duty finder and instead make your own groups.
And if you encounter an inconsiderate individual who's time is apparently more important than everyone else's, ignore and move along. Don't engage and get mad at them, it will only serve to sour the mood further.
Still no excuse for not waiting on cutscenes.. my work can keep me up to 55+ hrs each week and have over an hour drive to am from work.. I still respectfully wait for players to watch cutscenes
Normally i will wait if someone is watching the cutscene. But i also dont care if someone pulls ahead. I will simply join them in battle. Got no time for drama in dungeons or raids. And usually you will see a "sry didnt notice" from the puller after the fight.
That's what I'm saying! I even began my thread with "I'm not the puller" but yet, I'm still the ~toxic~ one.![]()
I don't think you're toxic. I just think you needed an explanation, which you have gotten plenty of those. What you do with that information is entirely up to you.
