Why do Seasonal Events get stripped down each year and not added too?

I think this year is a special case due to covid and months from new expansion launch. But I would lie if I said i wasn't disappointed.

they already merged events because of covid (and tbh they were trash events too), could have worked a bit more on this one, idk do something to keep your playerbase interested for the next 3 mounths without any content outsides of these events....
