Seasonal events have been getting worse for awhile, especially if you're a viera/hrothgar. Those events that only give a hat we can't even wear were pretty cool lol.
It's just like everything else in this game, we keep getting less and less content as time goes on. Soon we won't even get dungeons anymore.
Worst Moon fire event I've ever seen and people are defending it... and are promoting mediocre content - to add salt to the wounds they added new items for the moon fire event to the store aswel as costumes that came with the event in the past. An utter embaressment of an event and hopefully not a sign of things to come.
It's defiantly up there I have to say but if its an effect of Covid and the next EXPC then its understandable. All seasonal events in last year been very lacking as of this. But this kind of why I see the plus in using old seasonal events content as well as its buffs up the event with out the need for extra time, provided its not Spaghetti code in so adds more work but sadly wont know but they have all the assets and so forth. people will always defend it it and that's the way it is.
I don't think its a sign of things to come well I hope not kind of being optimistic on this part as they been like this with most the events in this game over the years. just very big downer that the Moon fire this year was so empty as its normally big mostly as the jump puzzle.
Well for Halloween event I be nice if the cosplay haunted mansion is back this year be nice.

Especially stuff like The Calamity Retold from Rising 2018, you put in the effort to create that whole thing, then can it for the subsequent years? why???
Moonfire faire has never been the attractiveness to me as far as events go. Buy in large they tend to not be the most spectacular of events, especially not compared to some of the Halloween or Valentines style events we've had.
The big judgement for me will come if the Rising is missing the heart I've come to expect in it. But we shouldn't dismiss the pandemic so readily as everyone seems to. Especially not here in the West where we haven't really gotten a true handle on it to begin with. Remember, Endwalker was delayed for a reason - these time-sensitive events can't be delayed.
For events like these anyways, I'm not all that concerned about what sort of questline or rewards we get - it's mainly just an excuse to celebrate. There's probably some good player run events going on as well (though nothing the size of Lunarcon, holy smokes that was cool.)
Oh, and for those asking why, aside from crossover events, the team here doesn't really like repeating seasonal events - these are some of the few things that recognize the actual passage of time and not be in a narrative time bubble. That's why you don't see previous events come back up. They want to try to keep it fresh - even if that does come at the cost of overall content quality in certain years.

Yeah it what I was guessing and can see from them over the years. I think for me I always love the new quest but its more the lack of say the old events, Fates and small jump puzzles and so forth that add to say new event and its story. Kind of more like a living seasonal event that grows each year adds new story and uses some the old attractions. It still marks time passing but gives more life to the event.Oh, and for those asking why, aside from crossover events, the team here doesn't really like repeating seasonal events - these are some of the few things that recognize the actual passage of time and not be in a narrative time bubble. They have been adding the previous event items to the store every year for nearly 5 years now.I'd honestly empathise if they'd of not put all the old free content on the paid store and added new content paid at the same time - I'm disgusted in them.
edit: It's a shame I can't speak Japenese and could voice my disgust in person or atleast on the Japanese forum that's more likely to be seen.
I think we're at six. And again, that was due to popular demand. We wanted the items back, they relayed to is the difficulty of cycling them in each year and mentioned if demand was high enough they'd likely bring it back in the mogstation. We caved into that.
The power of Glam compels us.
Atleast I get the last laugh on the people who doubted this outcome back when the store was first implimented and readlily supported this farce - A story built so centrally on ethics and the good in man and a contrashing store fed by greed that actively removed content from the game to add a seperate paid fee with items that in the past were on the marketboard - you'd think the extra subs they have right now would squench such greed but instead we deal with devastational greed with such dirty cash grabs
