Everything in THIS GAME ultimately is. But that isn't really true of sandboxes or sandparks - or, at least, it is less true by degrees. If they follow through on promises, every server in Ashes of Creation will be different, because houses, farms, towns, castles, etc. will all be built by the players, and their actions - individual and collective - will determine how the world looks. Now, yes, in the grand scheme of things, that's still meaningless. But at least your in-game actions produced a tangible result that is discernably altered from the results of other people. In FFXIV, we don't do anything that matters - ever. At least not as far as the game world is concerned.
And, frankly, I don't give a crap if that's supportive - I'm telling it like it is, not feeding into a delusion. The Ishgarde restoration did nothing. It was a system. Housing there will be added. We achieved zero. That's just how this game is.
