Asuming BDO or ESO are bad games or doing badly?
Man, some people really can't be bothered to listen outside their echo chamber, look outside their bubble. Well, in the rest of the civilized world MMORPGs have been stagnant in design for close to two decades now.

Being the only well off on a sinking ship doesn't change the fact the ship is sinking. Particullary meaninful hindsight in the light of certain bad news in the real life server.

Then play them? I don't because I don't enjoy the experience they provide. I hate pvp, so I don't play pvp oriented games, and eso I started, played less than 5 minutes, and lost interest.

I play XIV because I enjoy it, and have for over a decade.

If you don't like the game, stop playing. Why is that concept so hard? If I stopped enjoying XIV, I'd quit on the spot.

Funny you’re saying this as if 1.0 didn’t absolutely bomb to the point the dev had to apologize for how bad it was LMAO. It’s almost like they’re taking the time to perfect an mmo. Is really simple:
You can enjoy things. You can dislike things. But always there are bad things in that which you like, for example: dead unrewarding content in several systems of FFXIV - Unless you wanna argue there is no such thing. Everything is perfectible.


Unless you have deeply ingrained belief or ideology that makes you see everything in absolutes - Thus allowing yourself to be blinded by them.

I know of one MMORPG that heavily speaks of such topics, through an amazing storyline it explores the faults of thinking one self more rightgeous to your world view than others - Is called Final Fantasy XIV, you can play it for free and its expansions Heavensward without time limits!

Because it’s something new and the devs seem to care and are open about the development. Whereas all we get are constant excuses of “engine problems, engine limitations.” They’ve literally abandoned these forums in favor of looking at twitter,reddit, and jp forums for feedback. That should tell you enough how they feel lmao.

I can pretty much tell what the tone of a post will be just be looking at who posted it. It gets rather annoying seeing constant negativity from said group.

As someone with multiple PENs in BDO. It is a shit game. Designed purely to be a casino with progression gated behind multiple layers of rng where failure actually pushes you backwards. Being shitty doesn't mean it can't do well. It just relies on shitty systems to feed the gambling fueled endorphin rush.

You can still make money off of a niche, not everything needs to, or even CAN be, a billion dollar market. For every Call of Cooty, there is 1000 FPS games no one has ever even heard about.

Indeed is not a perfect game, but you should give it a try, it has very good parts to it too: Enough of them to surprisingly keep a lot of players to stick with it for longer than you could imagine through all your prejudices.
Im also somewhat of an omnicient like you seem to be, tho a bit more humble: I wouldn't call those people negative - I would call them feedback. On the other hand, being positively toxic about yourself and your enviroment can be indeed hurtful not only to yourself but the enviroment.

The whole Final Fantasy Franchise is about exactly that.

When did FFXIV Devs say they wanted to be #1? Yoshi-P said in an interview he does NOT want to be compared to WoW, and understands that FFXIV will probably never have the same number of subscribers. He’s okay with that.

Never and never claimed to be a wow killer either.

Sure there is some feedback. But most complaint threads are not feedback. They arent useful as a way of determining how to fix things, or creating any kind of meaningful criticism.

And no, I dont tend to post how Yoshida saved the game in every thread. I think I've only brought it up a few times actually, a long time ago, or whenever someone brings up a "fire Yoshi-P" thread....

I enjoy and experience most things this game offers, and don't feel the need to complain here about every thing I dislike in game. I don't post overly positive threads either. I just respond to people, sometimes agreeing, sometimes disagreeing. That's how forums work
