Wouldn’t men have longer feet and thicker arms?

Regardless, I’m not sure why people haven’t learned that after almost a decade of NPC-based outfits locked to the gender of the NPC it came from, they haven’t heeded the complaints in the forums so it’s not going to change. If they can’t bother to make the outfits dyeable, they’re not going to model them across the gender gap.

Because helmets/hats is what the majority of crossdressing people really want?
You would have to recreate everything for the opposite gender in 4 different ways. The system does not automatically adjust it without the 3D artists first recreating them.

    male to male
    male to female
    female to female
    female to male

That doubles their workload. They wouldn't just be required to recreate Ryne's boots, they would be required, as a professional company to recreate the entire Oracle (Ryne) glamour set for males, and by extension they would have to recreate whatever males get (Exarch?) for females as well.

    That's double the work.

I thought that too with female roegadyns thicker arms and legs being more like a male model than a female midlanders, which is why I assumed they had their own model. The kind people here informed me I was mistaken, so somehow midlander models can adjust to different proportions to some degree.

Incidentally, I may have a friend who might have hypothetically just tested putting the scion rogues garb on a female viera successfully, with the only adjustment needed being the chest size. Hypothetically of course.

edit: for fairness same friend may have put the lightning set on a male highlander, again the set was near perfect apart from the chest area, where there were some texture issues. Legs, gloves and boots actually looked really good considering the set was scaling up in size instead of down. hypothetically. in minecraft.

    Keep gender lock!
There is no reason to let FFXIV psychodelic. Let genders and races have their own identity.

A man wanting to dress femininely does not take away my own femininity. Just like me cutting my hair short didn't obliterate the concept of masculinity.
I'd say letting people have their own identity is more important. My gender is a label, it doesn't have the capacity to want or experience anything, and it's certainly not so fragile that I could lose grip on it by seeing a woman in a slick suit, or a man in some rockin' heels, or a nonbinary person doin' their thing.

I'm still thinking at this point that if we remove the job restrictions on glam then the majority will be satisfied. Men who want something more feminine won't need to be a healer to get the dress, and ladies can wear those sweet tank coats on any job they want. Thinking on it, those two roles in particular are very uniformly masculine and feminine in their armor appearances regardless of your characters gender.

This would also satisfy the parties who don't want to overload developers.

I will admit...it would be nice to get more pants for females and less fricking Dresses/Skirts.
Its not even a masculine vs Feminine thing, I just prefer pants

I do think that outside of artifact gearsets that would be nice. (bolded for people who skim) Most sets are reskinned and redistributed to other roles anyway, there isn't that much job identity to preserve.

Gladly give females more pants options if males could get short shorts just once, those spring bottoms from the Boutique, just why, men in shorts is fine.
