I just think it's a shame people are so dire to seperate themselves from the rest of the community. I bet people are just waiting for the JP and NA servers to emerge as well.
*edit*
To be blunt we shouldn't be segregating people just because it's what they feel comfortable with, everyone should be able to co-exist on the same server.

There is no reason to do this, the RPing groups that are on Besaid, are staying, so Balmung will be the new "RP" server, we already have one designated -.-Greetings,
Apologies for the delay, I know you've all been waiting on a response to this topic.
There aren't any plans to designate a roleplay server for the upcoming World Merge. However, Yoshida did tell us "I also like roleplaying, so with the launch of version 2.0 we'll prepare a roleplay server."
but they cant dub it official cuz itd be unfair to those who dont want it to be "official" thats why they will eventualy try and make one specificaly for RP thats called the roleplaying server

Right, because the people who are currently playing the game are the only people who will ever be playing the game. Nope, there aren't ever going to be any new customers coming ever again, certainly not any new customers who might be unaware of what the community's unofficially designated RP server is...

With all due respect, most found it with little to no problem. :] If someone truly wants to RP, then I don't think it will escape them to type "FFXIV RP" into Google. The #1 result is the RPC website (www.ffxiv-roleplayers.com). It should be pretty easy, unless you seriously doubt the googling/mental capacities of roleplayers.Right, because the people who are currently playing the game are the only people who will ever be playing the game. She makes a point--you're free to disagree, but no need to be so satirical.
Because if you want to RP, you have to go out of your way to find the community, right? Just like they do in modern MMOs like SWTOR! Oh wait...
Yeah, thats kind of funny to me Rowyne, when several of us were on the side of RPers, and I for one made several posotive comments about my experiences with you folks on my server, just to be insulted, bashed and labels for disagreeing with you here. Any negativity you and your fellow RPist get from this point on from us, you brought on yourselves.it's difficult to see that positivity when you 1) amusedly call us RPists 2) openly admit that you troll roleplayers in public and 3) go on a tirade like this.
I've tried to defend what's fair for everyone, but with attitudes like this, it's hard not to prefer that SE officially designate Balmung the RP server and leave it up to the haters to transfer if they're not happy. I seriously can't see how an official designation would change your gameplay, other than make it harder for you to openly insult the RP community.
No. Players should not be required to do any research whatsoever prior to starting up the game and creating their character. That's not user-friendly.
I don't doubt people's ability to use google, but the fact is doing so shouldn't be necessary. A game should be intuitive enough that you can just jump right in and start playing immediately, without having to do any work to prepare beforehand.

Yet you expect players to do research to find the server with the largest player base of there language? Or any other Specific group? No. Players should not be required to do any research whatsoever prior to starting up the game and creating their character. That's not user-friendly.
