One of the crowning ironies of this thread is all the RP naysayers claiming they support the "normal" RPers and only hate the "bad" RPers yet they roll in here with universally aimed trolls like "RPists" - a term admitted by its foremost proponent to be invented solely to deride roleplayers. If they only have a problem with the "bad" RPers, why the hell are they picking a fight with ALL RPers? Not to mention, here's the funniest part: They accuse US of not reading posts thoroughly, having fragmented reasoning, and attention whoring while doing those very things themselves!

Seriously people, I'm with Oskar. Don't feed the trolls. If their arguments can't even support themselves, don't grant them false legitimacy by taking them seriously. I haven't seen anything new brought up over the course of the past several pages, at this point we're just sort of riding the rephrase merry-go-round.

Yeah, I'm disappointed that there was no dev response about this before the server merge news.

I'm holding out hope that perhaps Balmung will now be declared the official roleplay hub.

If this is going to happen before 2.0, it's only fair that it's announced before the transfer application period starts on March 1.

Please SE, at the time of this writing, the OP has 67 likes. That must be telling of how much support this idea has. And Yoshi-P recognized the need for it when interviewed by Eorzeapedia. Won't the devs give us a response?

For a really long time I've been thinking that they only receive opinion from JP forum
since they're really lacking on staff that can go through NA forum.

Do you blame them? On the NA side, every thread quickly degrades into a flame war or trollfest.

They do listen from what I have seen. The problem I see, is that if radical changes are not given to a poster, no matter how logical or illogical, in a very illogical time frame, they bash the staff like so.

I agree, do not be upset with the staff who monitor the forums. Creating negativity towards them does not help our goal, despite our frustration.

I was speaking with Verence the other day, venting you may say. I mentioned this to him, which Rowyne touched on already, that /some/ response from the staff would be quite helpful and encouraging. RPers have been very patient with SE for many years, as well as understanding. I understand that they likely have seen this thread, but cannot post a reply one way or the other for an internal reason, after all they know more about the going-ons of SE than we do. For all we know, they might be waiting on Yoshi-P to make an official announcement regarding this. Now, I know that is wishful thinking on my part, but it's just an example to illustrate my point, so let's not get upset with the staff.

But- they /have/ answered threads which came after this one started, and had a lot less replies/views than this. All I personally ask for, is a simple nod from a community rep, so that we know that this issue is being looked into at least. We are reasonable people, we can wait for the answer. In fact, this thread will only continue to grow and reside on the top of this forum until we get some response. It's not going anywhere.

I will be editing the OP later today to reflect changes based on the Server news.

I know this doesn't help coming from a non-CM, but I believe the Rukkirii factor has placed the info in the necessary location that a fluffy beast will be relaying to Yoshi-P and friends.

However, the resistance and concerns raised in this thread have further impeded the response, being more cautious on approaching the topic. And the decision folks have prioritized resolving the Server Merge debacle more, which is delaying their response to this thread.

I believe the CMs would prefer to post with a conclusion than only the acknowledgement of its escalation and reasons for the delayed response.

If you guys are ever gonna get a server itl be when they open NEW servers for 2.0

They will not force roleplaying upon already existing non roleplay server(besaid IS NOT a roleplay server officialy, and they will not announce any server to be unofficial cuz thats just not how it works).

So if you want a server, work on it towards then, or keep up with the unofficial idea.
It worked at launch, it can continue to work now.

ans when one day they open a roleplay server, you can all go there if you want, instead of forcing those of us who dont want to be on an official roleplay server to have to put up with it in that regard. (you guys should be the ones who have to transfer, not everyone else since it is you who want the special treatment)
