This is what I've been saying since forever and even on reddit I got downvoted into oblivion. :')

People are looking for an easy solutions and don't want to face the reality that the timer is not what is preventing them from getting a house.

They've paused the timer only for NA at times. They've paused it only for JP at times. They've paused it for all regions at times. You can confirm this by scrolling back through Lodestone notices for the past 6 years.

They do have some control over where at least this one aspect of the game works.

Alright, guess I haven't noticed since I don't pay attention to NA since it doesn't affect me in EU, but the past couple pauses been for all I'm sure.

If we're given information that something is going to be happening, then they want us to be talking about it. They're probably looking for our responses and ideas as they finalize how the systems will work.

I think we're (predictably) focusing on the wrong part of the problem, and we should really be focusing on the divide between FC and personal houses, and what that should look like and how that works. I mean...

• Should SE duplicate and split the wards between FC and personal so all FC houses are in one set of wards and all personal houses are in another?
• How many wards should be added that are purely personal and purely FC?
• Should there be mixed wards allowed after the change?
• Should the mixed wards be phased out eventually?

All of that actually addresses many of the longstanding issues with housing because they are all centered on the supply/demand imbalance since there's an absurd amount demand with a stark lack of supply. Acquisition method becomes irrelevant when there's enough supply that time for acquisition stops getting measured in months. Instead, this forum is (predictably) getting distracted over a lotto that DOES NOT MATTER WITH ENOUGH SUPPLY.

There is another (very relevant) announced feature to all of this that we have not had any real information on, specifically Island Sanctuaries. If Island Sanctuaries is an equivalent gardening feature to housing gardening, that's also going to reduce housing demand. The same is true if we are able to get a workshop spot through Garlond Ironworks at Revenant's Toll, as that will also reduce demand. I doubt many players have been able to experience this content because of how many problems FCs have had with idiots ninja'ing thavnairian onions and selling them on the AH. If SE is paying attention, these are two things that are LONG overdue and two additional announcements that would be insanely beneficial to the entire housing cluster.

Where was this level of response earlier? As for supply its not solved by the slightest. If the supply coming could truly meet the demand a lotto would not be needed. Which brings us back to square one the supply problem that leads to aquistion issues. I would not bank on islands or airships being publically accessible as a problem solver but just oinment to ease the pain.

The people standing at placecards dont even represent 1% of the homeless fc's and players who want a house. If they could supply homes to 50% of the fc's and players looking for a home it would be a miracle but this moment its just a dream..

He is on my ignore list too but it's pointless because he is constantly being quoted by everyone given he's so argumentative it does little good. After all he is right and everyone is wrong not to mention his condensing remarks to anyone who disagrees with him.

I hope they consider to implement a "pity"-system into the lottery. The often you lose, the higher are your chances to get a house of the same size.
