So you agree with the part about how man-hating SJW’s actually secretly pine for strong men?
Or the part about an effort to feminize men with JRPGs?
Which part of the post. The weird sexual psychoanalysis or the China praise?
The guy I said this too said I wanted nipples on my feminine armor. Did you even read what he said to me? There was no argument. He was genuinely being a creep.
Actually, thank you for reminding me just how completely disgusting and crude men can be, especially when grouped together. “Friendly banter” includes demeaning my request by implying the only way the armor can be feminine is to add nipples to it. It’s disrespectful to me. I’m not one of the boys though so your crude humor doesn’t amuse me.
what makes armor gendered to you anyway? i mean a woman in a suit of armor might not get as much mileage out of a codpiece than a man would but beyond that, what do you mean exactly by 'feminine armor'?
Clearly we need male armor with giant bulging codpieces. They're historically accurate.
No, really, I'm not joking. They existed. I'm not gonna post or link it because it's probably over the limits of forum rules, but.....look it up at your own risk.
Sigh....now i want a new dungeon with new subligars like the ARR dungeons. Those were the times.
'' Every other MMO '' is an insane exaggerating.Educational time:
https://www.quora.com/Historically-s...eason-for-them
Also I don't know when or how this offtopic discussion about armor started since the OP very clearly stated that he is talking about the face, hair and body shape of current male races being all too feminine.
edit: vvvvvvvvvvvvvvv
Then educate us and show us what armor conforming to the female shape looks like.
Plate armor looking bulky is not because it's conforming to the male shape. Plate armor is bulky because the less unecessary curvature it has the less pressure points and thus more resistant. You might not care about those details, but SE does, otherwise we would be running around in metal bikinis by endgame like every other MMO.
And people need to stop talking about armor as if it was just designed one way and one thing was '' superior ''.
There were plenty of curved breastplates both in terms of the chest and the waist and also flat breastplates.
In fact Brigandines were form fitting, they still had a gap between the body and the plate but it was very form fitting still and even people who are on the obese side actually look fairly slim wearing them.
Armor conforming to the feminine shape would simply be to emphasie what is considered feminine the same way that breastplates at one point were shaped like corsets because small waists was considered to be manly ( or small/ toned shins etc ).
It'd be about emphasizing the bust by pushing out the chest dome or today it'd be like the more corset shaped breastplates while nowadays people don't view small waists as manly.
Armor design today do emphasize masculinity by being bulky, that is why there is such massive shoulders and why breastplates are very wide.
Because nowadays we live in a world where masculinity is equated to bulkiness and the wide frame, but that wasn't always the case and armor reflected that.
Also bringing up old paintings is pretty dumb, because women didn't wear armor enough to even be taken into consideration at all with how armor developed.
And most paintings of historical people are also done long after with no actual references and are just from imagination.
If women wore armor enough to be actually taken into consideration then armor historically would've reflected that, even nowadays there have actually been problems with body armor and hema protection because it's uncomfortable for a lot of women with more overtly feminine curves to wear the same as men.
In fact with a Brigandine it'd essentially be a necessity to push the chest out, because otherwise the chest would be resting on the breastplate which you absolutely didn't want.
Shadiversity made two great videos on this and Scholargladiatoria have talked about it before too.
Shadiversity also talked about Brigandines too which was very educational and holy shit he looked slim as hell in a Brigandine it was really surprising.

In the end of the day there is no shortage of half naked men in video games either but I literally never see any of you complain about that it's always about when women show skin.
It reminds me of a video about '' the male gaze vs female gaze '' I watched recently where they brought up a scene from the Xena series and asked why Callisto '' has her stomach exposed with vital organs ''.
Completely ignoring how in the background her henchMEN are all half naked too.

I don't think anyone making a goofy joke about boob armor has anything to do with their actual gender, but sure go off I guess.
Now, to search up these "Giant Bulging Codpieces". If I don't return, I'm leaving my collection of bent Pokemon cards to Mollusk.
Nipple armor actually was a thing in Japan and it probably was a thing in other cultures too, people get extremely hung up on Europe during a very specific time period.
And in reality we don't actually know the specifics in a lot of time periods about what specific individuals wore or what was and wasn't worn.
Just because something is common doesn't mean that it's the only thing.
And even then people clearly have no clue what they're talking about like for example about how breastplates either '' need '' to be curved or flat ( people don't seem to be able to make their minds up ).
In reality both existed and were chosen over the other for a variety of different reasons and just simply personal preference and both had pros and cons but were fully functional and so would '' boobplate '' be ( I fucking hate that term ).
On a personal level I do find it to be extremely frustrating how people jump to '' bikini armor '' the moment anyone talks about feminine armor or throw all actual logic and history out the window and act like '' boobplate '' would be dangerous to the wearer and not functional.
Even tho there are actual historical examples of armor that by the same logic would be far more dangerous like corset breastplates which were the norm at one point.
In Nioh 2 there is an armor set with a male torso in detail modeled on it with nipples and everything and it's a reference to a historical breastplate.
I've seen example with nipple rings too.
Armor has literally always been gendered, it has always been about emphasizing masculine norms at the given time period.
It's a pretty significant part of the history of armor and how it developed and why it changed the way that it did...
Why do you think exactly that today most guys want to play as a dude in '' big beefy bulky armor '' while historically that wasn't always the case and there were times where the exact opposite was considered manly?
The reason why most guys want to play what they want in male characters is because they want their character to adhere to a masculine ideal and that has always been a thing.
But somehow when women want the same then it's suddenly bad apparently.

where did i say it was bad? i was just asking for clarification as to what they meant by 'feminine armor'
