I liked Elvaan in XI. The women had awesome cabooses, and the men had better faces than those present in XIV. They were also STR/MND(faith) based, which is unusual for elves.

In XIV they went sorta more traditional with them while bringing down every aspect that they gave them in XI. XIV Elezen could use a revamp.

Highlanders are mostly fine. They just need to give all facial hair options to all face types, but that's something that every race needs.

Elves are generally the first or second most popular pick where playable races are concerned in games where they're available to play as. They're incredibly popular and generally look quite good - so the simple fact that Elezen do not reflect that trend suggests that there is indeed something very 'off' with their design.

It's a real shame. I played a Blood Elf in World of Warcraft for years. I liked their lore, culture, aesthetics and physique quite a bit. They were strong, chiseled, classically handsome and had some cool traits such as an intense glow to their eyes.

As a proud Elezen I reject your revamp. I would however not mind updates to some of the animations for all of the original races as they need some more polish.

I do think the Elezen heads need a little love to be proportional. Their animations could also DEFINITELY use some love because they are very stiff.

Agreed, particularly when you consider that the way the Ishgardian elezen are portrayed is not exactly different from those traits the Elvaan were based on, being a society heavily steeped in chivalry and faith.

    What Elezen need :

    1. Updated run animation.
    2. Bigger heads (especially females).
    3. More faces (just like every other race but more so on Elezen due to lack of choices).

    What Elezen don't need:

    1. A complete change to their INTENDED skeletal structure to pander to people who don't even play them.

    ----

Get over it. You won't get WoW elves because they aren't WoW elves, they are Elezen based on Elvaan who have looked like that for 20 years. And if you played Elezen, you would know that there is specific dialogue that references the player as "long neck". It's here to stay.

As an aside, I find it funny that people froth over how hot Elezen NPCs and player characters are, but still won't play them. Waifus and cat boys are still too stronk and even a generic elf race won't topple over the cat girl majority.

I'd rather not see the game held back at the behest of a tiny minority of players, personally. WoW made an effort to update its character models across the board and it proved to be a popular feature that pleased many more people than it displeased. I believe PS02 has recently done as much as well. So there's certainly an established precedent for it where MMO's are concerned.

In that case, just delete everything that is unpopular. I don't want to see the game held back by a minority of players. Might as well make Roe's short and skinny and delete Hrothgars entirely. And also stop making the masculine hair that you crave. I'm sure that would be a popular feature, considering a majority of this game is female characters and want long hair. Oh, also just remove savages and put more of that development time into Gold Saucer/crafting. Since more people engage in that.

Also, WoW did not change the basics of the race. Trolls still had two toes (despite the feet being unpopular) and warts on the face, worgen still had no tails, there is still no human skin tone options for goblins, and Kul Tirans are still only fat (granted none of the allied races have been touched but people reeee about Kul Tirans always)... PSO2 has also not changed their races at all, so I'm unsure where this plays into it.

Um what? Have you not seen the multiple threads and posts of people (female players in the majority) asking for shorter, less androgynous hair? People don’t want just long hair they want short hair as well that doesn’t look ugly and mismatched. You just seem like you’re trying to deflect what is deemed to be a good solution for all races, just because you personally don’t want to see Elezen changed. People also want masculine hair, that isn’t in the minority either so i’m not sure what kind of points you’re trying to come up with seeing that a majority of the playerbase is male characters. It’s such a weird line of thinking that you seem to be trying to push. Every race needs to be revamped. It’s not exclusive to one or the other.

It seems like the same people having the same discussion in every thread so it's kind of hard to gauge. And it seems to be male characters doing the asking, at least the regular ones I've noticed. It's hard to identify the players unless they say so, but the most vocal known ones are men too.
