Hey, I wasn't the one who asked the question. I was just correcting you - they are not like human children. Was a question asking about naked viera children really necessary though? I would have thought "they look androgynous until puberty" or whatever was enough. It's been stated before in this thread that viera don't really have gender roles prior, so it makes a lot of sense. Just like if humans didn't have gender roles.
It's too much.
So? The question was in regards to their lore which Matsuno personally answered.

I don't want to be put on a list so, I'm not going to ask for anyone here to elaborate. Nor would I want them to.

I honestly don't see the problem with it when we are talking about biology in a non-sexualised way.Exactly my thoughts. I recall that interview from awhile back, and I never brought it up here, because of how uncomfortable it is. I don't think it's even worth discussing it, made up race or not. Either way, some of the justification I've read for them being "androgynous" can be referred to as disturbing, and it's too bad this has been brought up. Like, why was that question even asked?
They've made that statement that you can't tell them apart as children and without going to that level of biological detail there is no way to clarify - for the sake of properly understanding where the race is coming from - whether that just means they're dressed the same or whether nobody, not even the child themself, can possibly tell which gender they are.
They're not even giving a detailed description of body parts. I don't need to hear about that. But the question of "clothes-on or clothes-off identical" does need to be clarified if that's the concept they have of the race.
I'm not sure if you're trying to be sarcastic or not, but I get the impression that it's which parts of them develop at puberty, if you catch that drift. (And that certainly is all the detail I want to know.)

It does seem like the males do change a little bit, too. For one, their shoulders seemed a little broader compared to females in the trailer. I think the main distinguishing factor is female viera's secondary sex characteristics becoming more prominent.
The problem is I don't think many in this community are just "talking about biology in a non-sexualised way", but I digress.I honestly don't see the problem with it when we are talking about biology in a non-sexualised way.

Anyway, it still makes no sense, as even still they hit puberty at a similar age as humans, meaning they have time to develop like humans. So, they should be easily distinguishable by their 20's, as males. They shouldn't look androgynous at all, and it shouldn't be used as justification for them to look androgynous, in my opinion.

When exactly did I imply YOU? I did not quote you, OR use your name, and everything I have stated prior has been in reference to the question - and even then I didn't accuse the person who asked the question. I was simply making a general statement - which doesn't encompass the whole community. I don't see why this reply was necessary.

Because just prior, we were talking about the biology of a fantasy race? You know what, forget it. I'd really appreciate it if you didn't make the conversation super weird and uncomfortable. Biology isn't inherently weird unless you make it weird. So stop. When exactly did I imply YOU? I did not quote you, OR use your name, and everything I have stated prior has been in reference to the question - and even then I didn't accuse the person who asked the question. Square enix, we get it, you made them skinny for a reason. But as you can see it's leading to these "young teenager and children" discussions. Exactly what you wanted to avoid that's why I keep proposing you to allow them to be tall. If you think the "twink" drooling is bad now, just wait until they're released and they're as short as midlander; you're gonna get a whole lot of "they look like teenage snacks" thirst.
Even real life rabbits agree, make them tall

There's art style, and there's logical knowledge of what isn't being emphasised in the art style but is presumably still there. The ffxiv universe pants are flat on both sides male and female. There is no difference for any race. The female viera are only distinguished by their upper body development. So in this case there is no sarcasm, just an observation. I don’t care either way. I like the way male viera look. I just think this segment of the thread is silly because it’s not real life. In this universe males have no nipples either.
