I think the funny part of GCBTW comes from that people who actively broadcast how good FF14 always point how the community isnt toxic and is much better than WoW -- even though a majority of the community over laps and has some similar toxic aspects to it.

Its a meme because people overpromote something.

And yet people somehow experienced a difference. So either the overlap isn't a majority, the overlap isn't the toxic part for the most part, or there is something in FFXIV that somehow curbs the toxicity to some extent, whether it's enforcement of the rules or something else.

It's not overpromotion. It's overreaction to other people having a good experience and sharing it.

Truly an example of a great, welcoming community.

So, people in the community calling the community toxic but also want to spite the community and want the community to be riled up or made fun of. Like I said, self-fulfilling prophecy.

Ah yes, how dare he be drawn in by one aspect of the game and wanting to learn more about it instead of automatically loving and consuming all content instantly. These WoW players are legit toxic, yes, them.
