I don't agree. I feel like this forum is overly toxic, and that people gang up on those that they do not like for having a differing opinion. I also feel like there are a lot of trolls who are trying to get a few minutes of notoriety, and that the moderators here aren't able to contain it all for some reason.

On top this, the community has taken a turn for the worse ever since Shadowbringers. Don't get me wrong, all games have a toxic population of users, but ever since we became the top selling MMMORPG, we have inherited a lot of negativity. I miss the days before Shadowbringers a lot, because people definitely weren't as bad to each other as they can be now.

that's just straight up make believe to make yourself feel better because people are speaking up against manipulative people like you, you're well aware that this is wrong, too. the amount of drama I've seen second and thirdhand from my friends playing this game were one of the big reasons I steered clear of this game for YEARS because of it - and was actually pleasantly surprised how helpful people were when I started playing

I feel like people here have misunderstood me, and it's making me very depressed. I just want to express my voice without being treated like crap. It shouldn't be that hard! And quite frankly, it doesn't matter what you think I have done, if you keep derailing a thread about a certain issue by not talking about that issue, then you're no better than the things you accuse me of doing. It does the community a complete disservice. Imagine if we had wrote the majority of these pages on how we would like to see content like Zadnor improved. Maybe these suggestions could go to Square Enix, but with all the drama ensuing for absolutely no good reason, I suspect that don't they won't even bother.

You can't keep witch hunting people for one thing they did, or made up things you claim they did. It absolutely is not fair, and I don't care how many people say "oh well life isn't fair", it doesn't mean we get to be jerks to each other. I have absolutely had it to here with the way people have treated me on these forums for the last four years. I want it to stop. Honestly, I am at such a level of annoyance over this as a customer, that I might just write to Square Enix, and ask them to PLEASE step up their moderating, because the way I'm treated on here makes me feel uncomfortable.

If I could name change and clear everything on the forums, in order to completely start over, I absolutely would. Until then, people will continue to have a bias against me, and treat me like crap for it. The same things I post, people give me crap for, but then they turn around do it to others, and then they make a big deal about how they have such wonderful suggestions.

Damian, WoW is a local forum troll, if he can find something to get a reaction or argument, he'll do it. He gets off on it with everybody. Just don't give him the satisfaction. You can't reason with him.

I'm noticing a pattern lately where all the "Community has become so much worse" posts and threads have been from people who were called out for something and/or someone disagreed with them. Usually the person in question has been involved in some form of insult throwing or poor behavior but firmly believes they're a victim.

Maybe it's a symptom of the game coddling players too much. You can't just yell "toxic!" and threaten reports the moment you don't get your way. That's not how life works.

I was completely aware that my suggestion was sort of a band-aid and not intended to be a permanent solution to missing gold ratings; I was genuinely trying to be nice but stopped entirely at 2nd page (thankfully) after realizing I was dealing with a Karen. Although I do not expect it would get derailed that far. Yeah? No. Take some time away from internet, because that's clearly not doing any favor but riling you up further, regardless of this community's intentions. /shrug

Admittedly I had not read the whole thread and have read more since and I can see your point with Damian.I've had barely any interaction with him, but based on this, I am 100% for people loving and respecting each other and I will do my best to respect other, but it does need to go both ways, if you don't show respect then people won't show you respect.

But if Damian is genuinely a troll, it's probably best just calling it out for others to see and reason why rather engaging because it feeds them. No doubt people can point out where I've contributed to feeding trolls on these forums, but I've stopped because nothing is achieved. Which is contrary to those who legitimately contribute to discussions without bad faith arguments and trolling, who have made me change my opinions on certain topics here, so something is achieved there.

You can show other people why they're trolls but they will argue from bad faith because it keeps the argument going. Hence the threads we have going on for pages and pages.

With the point WoW makes, it's not a case of 'git gud' it's a case they are undertuned. Yes, people can mitigate it by doing x,y and z but it is still a flaw and a problem. I don't think it has to be adjusted /much/ because I don't have an issue with the idea of sticking to one zone, but give me a chance to rez dead people after a CE or accommodate the time it takes for somebody to get to the FATE from an aetheryte.

Nah, it hasn't changed much since ARR. There has always been toxic individuals. They just tend to be more passive aggressive than outright hostile. Is the game more popular now? Of course. And with that comes a bit larger of a pool of players to be grouped with. Some of those are going to be bad apples, but most of them are not. At the end of the day though, nothing has really changed. In my experience (and in the experience of many others) this community is pretty dang friendly, and arguably too understanding sometimes. The forums though...that's a mixed bag to put it mildly. At this point I think some people like myself are just 100% done with peoples' crap. lol If you are having so many issues regularly...well, some self reflection might be in order. I don't know you, and quite frankly I don't follow your activity on the forums one bit, but it's not hard to put two and two together just in this thread alone. I've seen this before. I don't want to be quoted for profanity and risk being reported, so I will just say this...Lanadra above summed things up perfectly.
