I just wish the money would be going toward the game and not being funneled to their other projects lol. These answer are not surprising because its all about money. It wouldnt be hard to make purchases account wide or implement an option that you can skip msq on a new char for example. But that would make them lose a lot of profit, for buisness its better if people just suck it up and buy stuff 2, 3 or more times, also if new chars could skip through everything that could maybe affect dungeon ques for new players and of course they dont want to change the fantasia addiction its a big money generator for them, i know people who buy fantasia 3-4 times each weak and look complete different each time.
At the end of the day Yoshi and Square are just another business company that want you to spent as much money as possible on them and not your friends.
The Souls franchise is different because of how you create your own builds for the game. I have over 6 characters in Dark Souls 2 just from messing around and trying out new ways to play.Even putting aside role-players...sometimes people just like having different characters to play. You technically only need one character to do everything in a game such as Dark Souls or Monster Hunter World but that doesn't mean people don't create multiple characters there.
Just throwing that out there that he was WAY more elaborate in the interview than what was given in this thread and I hope that OP rewrites his opening sentence because now it seems like yoship doesn't give a damn about this topic when this is far from the true. He even saidIs it just the translation, or did he just completely politiciandodge the hairstyle issue by focusing entirely on the hat thing?
I don't mean to sound ungrateful, because the fact that they're addressing these issues at all is good, but it sure would be nice if we got dev responses for both questions asked.
"For this topic alone I was in a meeting yesterday and next week we will have another meeting about this topic. Players can be rest assured that we are actively thinking about it and I hope they can wait a little bit longer. Hopefully soon we have some good news to tell."
Also I dont know who said this was org in japanese, source said it's from buffed themselves and they held it in german.
From what I recall (meaning don't take this as gospel truth, I'm going off what I think I remember), originally they were just going to do Hrothgar but for whatever reason decided to do Viera as well, leading to the current situation. It was common enough feedback over the years, too - but for whatever reason the development team decided to add not one but two new playable races at the same. Not only did they do as much, they ended up having to add the missing genders in addition because naturally when people only get half of something, a lot of them want the full thing.
I suspect that Yoshi P does not speak fluent German, so there would be a translator present.
Japanese -> translated into German -> translated (sort of) into English -> summarized (with biases intact)
Alright. That's a bit reassuring, at least. He even said

Yoshi-P is a fairly competent developer for the most part, but at times it feels like he's under some ridiculously strict embargo to not discuss certain long-standing issues with the game (cough egi-glamour cough).
And it really doesn't help that Shadowbringers was clearly made under massive financial pressure from SE.
No reward is worth suffering through content you feel is bad. The worst thing the playerbase can do to itself is force-complete the content it hates. It leaves the false impression that despite complaints, players are generally satisfied with the content and it's okay to make more like it. If players stop working on the content even with rewards incomplete (like Pagos when it first came out), it will send a clear sign that changes need to be made.
Not really a direct comment to you, but that part made something click in my head.
Anyone, correct me if I'm wrong. but didn't he mention at some point that he didn't want to talk about things that aren't certain as if they did people would expect things and when it perhaps didn't turn out as he previously stated people would get upset?
If that is the case then I can understand why we don't hear about stuff more often than we currently have.
I haven't been around long enough to catch a pattern, how much do they usually tell us about the new jobs?Us, healer, is a third-class citizen. We don't even get our special mount like a tank. ¯\(°_o)/¯
There's no new healer for 2 expansions straight. And now that it's coming they don't even get mentioned.
This feels almost like being a middle child. You only exist when you fail. XD
I don't remember them saying too much about DNC/GNB, especially when those jobs were 6 months out the old interviews I'm finding are on the same level of "augments self & has shields" and "fights with friend & build meter for combo attacks."
But yeah, it's a big shame the interviewer didn't think to ask about both upcoming jobs : (
Especially since one job's development just clicked, and the other had a more involved development process... you'd think they'd have fun things they'd wanna say about the job regardless.
Yeah I honestly dont know why they designed them that way. Why did they decide that it was okay, that Hrothgar players would need to buy Fantasia to change their hairstyle? Also what about their words that Viera and Hrothgar would get unique hairstyles in exchange for them being so restricted? Where are they? And Shadowbringers was released months before Covid even started, so its not like they had no time there either...
I imo could live with it if they simply said that the old hats would never be changed so that the two races would only get the new ones. But I will never really accept that these two races cant even wear hairstyles that some had to buy with real money...any hairstyle that comes out and is given as a direct reward, is part of an event or costs real money now to get should be wearable by every race.
Go read the original article (use the translate button on your browser if you have one).
With the Digital Fan Fest firmly in mind, Reaper was obviously the more newsworthy Topic for the Interviewer. The questions are those of the publication. Yeah, sure, be disappointed that no direct questions about Sage were asked, but blame that on the Interviewer, not SE.
