i think if they considered the lore when creating them, they will be around the same height (if they follow the current dimorphism probably a little taller, if they want something a bit different maybe a little smaller) but nothing too big of a difference.

Exactly, also because how they are part human and part rabbit, in some rabbit species on average females are a bit bigger, and for us on average males are a bit bigger, I think having them being the exact same height makes a lot of sense, this is all just speculation tho.

i just hope people will not freak out either way when they get released because for example many people (mostly twitter) seem to be way to certain about them being way smaller than their female counterpart. i just have female viera flashbacks.

i don‘t care either way, i would love them to be around the same height, would be a bummer if they are miqo male tall or even smaller. would i play them anyways? probably yes, i‘ve just waited way too long for them would probably waste a ton of money buying phantasias switching back and forth - because yeah... headgear and hairstyles.

I will also play them anyway but I really hope they are at least as tall as the females, as a fan of FFTA and FFTA2 I always thought Viera were super cool and always wondered how males would look. I'm just very excited to finaly play one XD

These people must be blind or trying really hard to create a reality that does not exist... The male viera trailer is out, various comparisons are out... And it's crystal clear they are not miqo'te height.

Honestly, this is the reason people should support the slider, is not there only to make monster tall bunnies, but also short ones, doesn't matter slightly taller or shorter, I doubt they will go down to 170cm, just like I doubt the will go up to 210cm.

Every character height slider in the game has the same spread of about 5 inches of height. The problem when you go more extreme is that it can break other parts of the work developers have to do with modeling gear and emotes to avoid clipping as well as would have to adjust other things more dramatically such as the size of equipped weapons and mounts. Additionally the height slider, as we currently have it, doesn't just stretch the model up or down, but also makes the full character model wider or more narrow as the character gets taller or shorter, which could result in some very unnatural looking proportions as you go to further extremes.

The idea of just make the slider go further in both directions is overly simplistic, and likely not possible.

But then also this entire thread is pretty much pointless if anyone thinks they're going to rework the sex now, after the reveal, to appeal to one side or the other. They've likely already done a large amount of work, and if we're unlikely to convince them to do it all over again because some people want them to be taller or shorter than they think they'll be based on the trailer.

absolutely! i‘ve read some really strange things like the males are hidden and dominated by the females, or just much weaker and something along these lines to make it seem plausible they are this small. even IF the males are really drastically smaller, their lore doesn‘t change. they still are the primary defenders of the forest and savage killer buns. their lives are rather harsh and many young male vieras don‘t even make it in the end.

and i also find it questionable why a smaller viera equals weaker? cloud is also rather slim but is a killermachine nontheless - after all this is a fantasy game. but yeah, we are talking here about twitter- everything has to be taken with a grain of salt.

The thing is, I actually agree, and If the slider can be modified now it won't be much, but I have been "proven wrong" by other people in this thread that know how the engine works... for reasons... (sorry for being vague, just don't want to drop accusations), so if they are right and they can make the race on a way it will please more people, I just have no reason to oppose.

Personally, I think they are really close in height, and I'm fine with that, maybe I should just stop getting in causes that are not my own.

Why is this baffling? The races have intentionally pretty vague lore, it’s unsurprising that people wouldn’t care much about it especially in regards to their OCs. Even with the example you used I could think of a couple reasons off the top of my head how that situation could fit into the little lore we have.

It would have to exist as an outlier.

In what established viera lore we have... The females and males live entirely separate until it's mating time, and then they part ways again. When males reach adulthood, they are taken as wards by the older males.
