Fran herself doesn't use the Viera female model. More of an early version of it.A wild thought:
What if Viera male models get added next week with the patch to be used as NPCs?
In a small part of a video on Zadnor, you can see Fran running in a corner... It also makes sense for her to come back as one of the main NPCs. Maybe she brought more friends? Would be a nice sneak-peek to what's yet to come.
Also considering the fact that Fran herself got added in the last patch of Stormblood.
I'm just saying it's unlikely we'll see random unnamed male viera since it would have to use their own model that isn't player based, I think at least they wouldn't put the actual player models into the game files just yet.

slim chance in all honesty
but fact they adding them in the first place who knows anymore lol
Just a side note... it's kind of hilarious the fact that they are very rare in the lore, but in the player reality, you'll probably see their numbers topping male miqo'te, at least while the hype is up.
As a writer, I'd never add lore for a playable race as being "very rare", because it leads to a disconnect, especially when it's a coveted race.

Well, goes the same way for Miqo'te themselves and some other options too, like Au Ra. :")
I guess we should get used to it after all these years xD
yeah because as i understand it other players are not really important to the lore aspect. there is only one wol, while others are random adventurers, they aren‘t really important and don‘t reflect lore. otherwise it wouldn‘t make sense we see so many white mages for example. npc‘s do matter however.Just a side note... it's kind of hilarious the fact that they are very rare in the lore, but in the player reality, you'll probably see their numbers topping male miqo'te, at least while the hype is up.

Yeah, I'm aware of it... It's just that is a little hard not to "see", even if I shouldn't. I'm even part of the situation because I'll probably change this main to be a bunboy anyways lol.yeah because as i understand it other players are not really important to the lore aspect. there is only one wol, while others are random adventurers, they aren‘t really important and don‘t reflect lore. otherwise it wouldn‘t make sense we see so many white mages for example. npc‘s do matter however.
I'd personally like to see more Fran-esque viera.
I am JUST being nit picky but I think the FFXII bunnies look more feral, tribal and interesting. FFXIV bunnies simply look more domesticated.
yeah i see your point! and i hope you do, as yoshi-p mentioned, there was a lot hard work behind them and it payed off - they are amazing!
(my miqo is in the backpack tho when i feel like wearing headgear or a new hairstyle :,)
