To be fair, they waste alot of resources that they could be funneling to raiding (the best content in the game). Instead we get stupid cosmetic crap and board games, and catbois mk.2. Smh, atleast they could give us better textures.

Whatever they invest resources into there's going to be someone like you. To some raids are a waste. To others, mini-games are a waste. Just because you think X is more fun doesn't mean that they'll cut elsewhere just because you enjoy X content.

We have a cookie-cutter content plan and I doubt they'll deviate from it in the near future.

Teasers arts usually were started being dropped 2 weeks before expansion release, if that's what you're wondering about.

They didn't share hairstyles separately, but they were available at benchmark so people started posting pics as soon as benchmark was dropped. In our case it will be most likely October.

As to other hints you mentioned - not sure :think: though, most likely, it will be closer to the release too, since now everything is still "subject to change". Probably also October and November?

Dont get me wrong. I dont blame players who wants male Vieras. Absolutely understandable. I blame SE's way to keep adding stuff, when they should fixing their old stuff first! Even when 51% of players get their male Vieras, 49% of all other players get nothing in return.

Regarding the character breakdown, it depends on how you slice it. For example, these figures from the Lucky Bancho active character count from Feb 2021 (they've remained fairly static from what I remember) show the following, broken down by sex and region (bearing in mind the female/male split averages at something like 60/40 - ironically an inverse of WoW's):





As can be seen, amongst males, Au ra and Hyur over-take Lalafell in the west, and amongst females, Viera do the same. I don't have the figures readily available but female Viera began at around 12% of the proportion of all active players as measured by that survey, and settled at c. 7-8%. There's many reasons you can attribute that to, but I don't think the situation with the head pieces and hair helped.

Anyhow, I agree that they first need to get the house in order with regard to existing races etc.

I dont think that "a majority" really asked for it. That would mean, that 51% of the entire playerbase would be a male Viera with the release of Endwalker.
The most popular races in FFXIV are Miqote, Au Ra and Lalafell. 1481 pages doesnt prove anything. You can push threads like this.

They were told how to feel by SE. They committed to the limitation the moment they bought the fantasia.

These past two years have been those who wanted to play male viera getting nothing in return until now. Two years. I would sacrifice hair if it meant I could play male viera. There are female viera complaining about hair whilst I can't even play a viera of my choice. Let me remind that Viera is huge content, lore wise, character wise, FF wise, and more. All of that is culminated in the perspective and reaction on the opposite end of those "who got nothing in return" and had to wait years for

Miqo'te or Au Ra players waited 4-6 years to have at least a 1-2 tiny options in their character customization. But got nothing since then. Nada.
The only difference is, that male Viera are confirmed. Other races still have to wait for miracles.

I dont think its a big suprise that they add the male Viera now, since concept arts are there since Heavensward. I assume they just didnt make in time, so they are releasing them in Endwalker. I mean, when they can easily add hairstyles each patch, why not additional tails, ears, face options, etc?

The whole point is: yes, they can add male Viera. But after 6 years of waiting, I would love to see something new for existing races, too!
