Judging by the image it appears male Viera are about a head and a half shorter than the females. So it seems the renders are somewhat accurate.

I hope this is true, it would make all my predictions/dreams about male viera accurate.
And to me they do feel shorter, proportions-wise, let's hope they give us more data on that.

I'm really happy we're not getting new hairstyles or hats for Viera & Hrothgar or fixing any problems with them or updating the older races!

It's really great that another gender is being added first without addressing the existing races issues, which means the added genders will suffer the same issues because not many people seemed to recognize any issues or care about the existing viera & hrothgar problem

Ooh interesting, but is that a Max height female Viera compared to a max height male Viera or a min height male Viera, we don't know yet, so it may just be possible that male Viera can be shorter than the females and height slider can be adjusted to allow taller male Viera that could be equal or higher than female Vieras can go.

That picture is actually misleading for a few reasons.

Firstly, they're not actually matched up. If you look at the background closely, you'll see that the female Viera's side is more elevated.

Secondly, we don't know how tall that female Viera is. Most likely the male Viera is average height, as most NPCs are. It's possible that that is a maximum height female Viera.

And lastly, the male is hunched over. He just woke up and is getting out of bed. The female, on the other hand, is standing completely straight.



If that female Viera is indeed maximum height and the male is average height, it would make the height difference seem much more drastic. All these factors help pronounce the difference even more.

We got something they said they didn't want to do again. Two somethings, if you count fHroth down the line! There's plenty to be happy about from that alone.

We have been waiting for them to do something for close to 2 years but it's not like they addressed some of the issues and have yet to polish a few details; they've done nothing for either race since they released them.

Fan Fest isn't over yet so there might be more announced yet, but it's definitely not "fine".

Yeah the FoV in the trailer is not what it is in game natively.
Best reference is comparing the height of the bed when he stands up to the height of his knee.
(use a male character for this comparison because female legs are longer in this game than the males)

No absolutely, that's a fair point, and you're absolutely right. The issues need to be addressed, regardless of the announcement to fill out the missing genders...

And I got caught up in what I was saying and forgot what I actually WANTED to say - my thoughts are that they're either wanting to address the gripes AFTER releasing both missing genders, OR simply prioritizing them over the issues because that's what they see folks wanting more of.

Just admittedly, I'm more than a bit tired of and frustrated on how folks are so focused on negativity and doubt, and that's leaked to me being dismissive toward the old issues in the face of news that WAS a target of such doubts. That's a fault of mine here, and something I need to keep a lid on more.
