It isn't really a case of misinformation. Though it is difficult to provide explicit proof given that providing evidence is against the naming and shaming rules and the PvP Discord's have since scrubbed themselves clean of the outright bragging that used to take place within.

Furthermore, if we consider that some people pay ridiculous amounts of real world money to get clears of content that isn't going anywhere anytime soon, such as Ultimate clears, Savage clears and even Extreme trial clears...it stands to reason that there would also be a portion of the community eager to spend cash on the even more exclusive items that are only temporarily available.

Such circumstances would allow a portion of skilled PvP enthusiasts to make a ridiculous amount of cash - which, again, some of them are silly enough to brag about outside of the game to friends and even strangers. Confident that nothing will ever happen to them and quick to piece together a defence force whenever anybody gets close to poking around.

Perhaps all this is hypothetical. Perhaps it isn't. I think I'll leave it to other players to judge for themselves.
