As a healer main, I have been miserable this entire expansion over job design. I only pop into my "main" job when I need to now. The inclusion of Sage better make the design team feel free to start pumping healers with actual engagement. Now that the whole "well, ast can stance dance so we can only prune and homogenize soz." should be over now. Or not!

Or the lack of new rewards on all fronts?

Seriously, does anyone still enjoy these "new" dungeons?
For the examples given I did only mention cut dungeons, but you're right.

The dungeons are honestly just hallway simulators, I would love to see incentive to explore dungeons designed like dungeons, for a community that partially complains about people rushing, why not ask for designs that encourage exploration and taking your time, if my 15 expert turned into 20-25 min one because there was a chance t get something worth selling or collecting I think dungeons would be more enjoyable over all. Not to mention they could add things like Mimics and traps from the deep dungeons to them,

The classes were molested in all honesty, I get it, yes some classes were daunting, DRK and AST when a newer player first unlocks them for example may be scared of how many buttons they see, and then having to go into a run with randoms doesn't help. That being said I feel it was like many things this expansion a over correction, DRK and WAR feel amost the same why PLD feels disjointed with its melee and range combos, GNB is now just babies first tank. None of them feel all that fun and great outside of higher end content(in my experience) and could use more of their identity back. And of course the same can be said for almost all the other jobs.

And I feel like most of the new rewards have been funneled into the mog station and the firmament, another reason why I generally dislike the firmament.

I'm generally inclined to agree if this were a mass produced product with a standard bar of quality, like a Starbucks coffee or a McDonald's hamburger. But...each of these expansions is very much a piecemeal thing with each iteration attempting to improve upon the last.

This is just my opinion, but for what I enjoy out of the game, it has done nothing but improve upon the things I want expansion to expansion (namely the story). In addition, the patch cycle is extremely predictable when compared to other MMOs I have played. Some of the gameplay changes I might not particularly agree with, but overall the quality of game has done nothing but increase for my needs.

I'm just not really sure what further expectations I should have; when I compare the quality of ARR with ShB, it's on a totally different level for me. Again, imho!

I'd argue Yoshida and SE are completely in touch with the playerbase when it comes to this. They probably have the data showing vast amounts of players underperforming, along with regular feedback for 'easy', or 'very easy' mode(s).

I think those are hard to gauge, honestly. I will regularly hit "very easy" just to zoom through a quest I've done before. A lot of encounters in quests just aren't interesting enough to last longer than a minute.

Correct me if im wrong. Didn't they added the gauge system do to a skill gap between the playerbase?

for a year, would you rather be secretly filmed at random moments and have the footage uploaded to your social media or loose $100 when ever you said a curse word?

That currently FFXIV and Wow are the only games that have constant content is a fact but that does not mean that the feeling we have a lot with Shadowbringers is less valid, especially after coming from Stormblood.

There's enough variation in XIV's wealth of dungeons for me. Since there are much better sources of tomestones the only incentive for me to run them would be for XP. But they're not really worth doing outside of a very narrow band or the daily leveling roulette.

While I find them fun on their own, my interest falls off a cliff when the only way to advance is to spam the "at level" ones five or six times. Nah, I'll just go play something else and wait for tomorrow. Too much of that and I start to ask why I'm paying for something I'm not using.

Your link proves my point. We get more content in each major FFXIV patch then what it shows for the WoW patches you posted. Not sure what your point was?

Yes we get less content now per patch than we did last year, but covid was a thing that slowed their work, so some patches were delayed and some content was cut. Even with that, we still got more content per patch this year then WoW got in the patch you posted.

To break it down, for the WoW post:

    Sept - Dec 2013 (4 month period)
5.4.0 - 1 raid, 1 raid difficulty mode, 1 new area, Connected Realms (essentially shard visit functionality)
    5.4.0 hotfix1 - Bug Fixes
    5.4.0 hotfix 2 - Bug Fixes
5.4.1 - Some pets, a mount and some bug fixes
5.4.2 - Ability to mail account bound items across servers, In-game shop (RMT shop), cross-realm raid finder improvements, pet, bug fixes
    5.4.2 hotfix 1 - bug fixes
5.4.7 - Level Boost UI, PvP changes, ilvl boost of the new area from 5.4.0

90% of the stuff added was pets or bug fixes... not real impressive

    FFXIV (3 month period) Dec 2020 - Feb 2021
    5.4 - https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...8c2f1094131070
    5.41 - https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...0223422d86935a
    5.45 - https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...a2070ed1b8e41b

I'll let you go through the extensive amount of content that was added in those 3 major patches.

FF XIV was JUST being re-released around the time you are pulling these WoW numbers from.
I used the WoW link the person I replied to provided. Also, I would argue that since 2.0, XIV has been steadily good, while WoW has fluctuated wildly over the years, but really started to decline with Cataclysm.

It's funny how they try to sell you again as new content a quest chain that you complete in 30 minutes or surprisingly small updates like Mahjong.
I also played WoW during Pandaria. You provided links to prove your point. I literally pulled my data directly from the link you provided. I pulled a 4 month period from WoW and compared it to a 3 month period in FFXIV during Shadowbringers, since that is the expansion being discussed as having less content.

We were missing content way before covid was a thing though lol.
