Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

We actually DO know Matsuno's and Yoshi-P's idea for male Viera, or at least their starting ideas.

Matsuno thought of them as tall, with a lean, boxer-type figure (he particularly cited a Hajime no Ippo character that had been starving himself before a match); I could look for the art he commissioned on his twitter when I have some free time.

Yoshi-P toyed with the idea in an interview (though I forget WHICH interview, MrHappy's?), and described them as having "An elezen body with a miqo'te face"; so tall, slim but broad-shouldered, round-ish head.



The poster was refering to the "hairy lalafell" male Viera idea, not the lore-argument for keeping male Viera unplayable. The sexual dimorphism to make THAT happen is... no, just no.

It is okay, I still stand with the lalafell or manlet male bunny group even if I am alone. Game already has too many normal or taller height playable races.

Though still amazes me how people think lalafell look like children, cause that would scare me if I saw a lalafell like child.

Personally it’s moreso not even just their appearance but their emotes as well that make them seem very very child-like.

They're not so far off from a human child that the comparison couldn't be made. Personally I don't mind them eventually introducing another small race (like Ivalician moogles), but not as the counterpart to Viera females.

Hey we may not get another race so while it may be very unlikely I have ny fingers crossed for another small type race.

Also if I saw a child that looked like a lalafell I would be horrified. Would also be worried due to the lack of knees. :P

As a lala player, I have to agree. I wish the emotes were more... what's the term? I wish they didn't look as child-like? I want my character to act like the grown-up they are! As for their looks, I thinks it's the face? Maybe put the face a little higher on the head, so they look more adult and less doll-like? I don't know...

In all honesty, with the timeframes they specified for the game lasting, plus the behind the scenes work they want to do on the engine, I find it difficult to believe there won't be another race at some point. Obviously nothing is for certain, but assuming that all pans out, I reckon we'll see another one at some point. IMO the next logical addition would be a smaller race, since lalafell are rather alone there.

That probably really depends on their graphical overhaul they were looking into. Male viera/female hrothgar are the locked in races we would get though. So thankfully we wouldn't get another small race; lalafell are already too much.

Lalafells are still child-like, and with the backlash this expansion with them i highly doubt they’d ever introduce another one, especially for male viera as that doesn’t even make any sense whatsoever lore wise lol. Plus i’d rather they be more unique not just deriving from an existing race.

I don't care about lore. I'm correcting your false statement. People weren't asking for another potato race when they asked for children to be added. They wanted an actual child model like, a child miqote, to be playable. And thank god that Yoshi P blasted that degenerate request with an akh morn.

We need more vegetable races in this game! So bring on the moombas with bunny ears!
