After how vital to the story the CT raids became, I am inclined to agree with this.
There's a ton they need to do to fit it into XIV. There's this mysterious place apparently no one knows about that has technology more advanced than the Allagans or world-hopping beings like Omega. Somehow at some point some mysterious portal opened and brought all this over. The door was barred. Who did that? If they're as advanced as they were displayed to be, how did that paltry door keep them contained? Was it pre-Light or post-Light? If pre-Light, then how did this place entirely escape the influence of Light and sin eaters? As I saw someone mention on these forums at one point as well, Eulmore had airships. How did they miss the Bunker? Do they do anything with aether? That's a key component of the XIV setting, even on Norvrandt.I also disagree with this. The world of FFXIV, a world of fantasy and sci-fi, of magic and technology, with time travel, space travel, multiple universes/dimensions/shards and who know what else, is flexible enough that Yorha fits well just by existing in it. It doesn't need any more "attempt" to fit in the game.
It's not just sci-fi and technology and time travel. The means to do those have a lore as well and nothing about the Nier raids references that or integrates with it.
Most of your questions have nothing to do with "fitting in" with XIV, only questions about the story that they may or may not choose to answer by the end (unless they were already answered and people just missed the answer). There's a ton they need to do to fit it into XIV. Regarding Light and sin eater, it happened within an enclosed area within Kholusia, so the Light wouldn't affect it since it was stopped by Minfilia 100 years ago and there's nothing to indicate this did not happen recently. Even the dwarves were not affected much unless they are attacked by sin eaters, and sin eaters wouldn't be there either since they'd have to go through the dwarves' settlement.
Eulmore had airships, but we don't see them go to the dwarves' area. I think you're underestimating the size of the zones. And besides, it's a pretty self-enclosed questline, just like Alexander was.
Either way, whether they explained everything else about the story to people's satisfaction, that's still not about fitting in the world.
And I'm glad people like you doesn't speak for the majority of us. Or is in a level of decision making in XIV. Otherwise we will get shitty crossover alliance raid for the rest of ffxiv lifespan.I'm glad people like the OP doesn't speak for the majority of us. Or is in a level of decision making in XIV.
I will say that this crossover was an overload on my senses. I'm disappointed we don't get any Flight Unit mounts, but given what we got out of it this was pretty nice. Having Automata music playing in my personal and FC houses for years to come will remind me how much fun I had with my FC and friends of the FC.
Thanks.
This raid isn't even interesting mechanics wise. It's so boring it feels like running CT raid while being overgeared.
Idk I hope for a crossover or two every expac. Alliance raid maybe not. But an extra extreme? Sign me up
That probably won't happen regardless of who is in the majority or in charge of the game.
Anyways, personally, they should do whatever they want with content. If they want to do another collaboration for an alliance raid, a trial, a dungeon, a regular raid, or any other content, do it, just make it good.
Wish the 24 man raids werent braindead.
Though not totally braindead, once it's out of fashion (3 weeks past release), it kind of is. I was rather disappointed with this whole tier. I understand Yoko Taro didn't handle encounter design, but I was really looking for something new and interesting to throw us through a loop. In this last one we had several recycled mechanics within bosses alone, e.g. get in or get to sides, avoid towers, chain knock backs. A few shb dungeon mechs...
Dear SE, do a Kingdom Hearts crossover.
