You are right, I should have specified. Dun Scaith was worthy.

I typically enjoy all the alliance raids but it would be nice to have a non crossover set if raids. Especially with endwalker wrapping up the current story having the raids be directly related to the story would be a good move imo. As for cross overs, I dont really have much of an opinion. As long as the raids are fun and well done then it doesn't bother me as long as its just not completely ridiculous like a Mario cross over or Pokémon or something lol

You're all insane if you didn't like the Nier Raid. I thought it was awesome compared to the last 24 man which was so damn dry. Not once did I have issue with Nier and the world, mostly because it happened in the first and not in the Source. I don't think there couldn't have been a perfect time for a cross over raid like this and you didn't have to do it btw, you could have skipped it and done the Bozjan 24 mans since they seem more appropriate for that kind of player.

Idk, I wouldn't exactly call it insane if you don't immediately drool over "here are 3 alliance raids spanning 2 years, from a completely unrelated game you may or may not like, with no rime or reason."

That's good for you, I for example am the exact opposite. The environment looks bland, the fights might be a visual spectacle but that's about it and the story is the most barebones I've seen in a long time with not even an attempt to have it make sense within the setting.

Just because it happens in the first doesn't mean you can just ignore the established logic in your made-up fantasy world. The first also has it's own set of rules and it's own history, none of which include "advanced robots from a different universe."

There probably is no perfect time to use a completely unrelated setting for main expansion content.

Not a very good argument when Alliance raids are considered main content. They provide relevant gear upgrades when they're initially released and upgrade materials for the current tomestone gear, you know, the gear that about 99% of the players use. Up until now they always atleast tried to have the raids included in XIV's world and lore, to have them somewhat make sense within the setting.

Bozja on the other hand is actual optional side content, which, despite being completely optional, is not only better integrated into XIV's lore but also has a story that makes sense without external knowledge and doesn't ignore the universe's established rules. I'm definitely not a fan of Eureka 2.0 but it did a better job at making sense than the NieR raids did.

I appreciate both methods of approaching raids. The ivalice raid was probably the pinnacle in regards to cross final fantasy universe. I really enjoyed eden, but I was actually disappointed we got arr 2.0+ primals... again. I know Yoshida said this is xiv and not viii, but I was really expecting more nostalgia feels than just the first fight and the salt lake flats (although both were incredible).

Still, having something different is always welcomed imo, especially with an aging mmo. If you're going to go different, then you should go WAY different. I don't know how much more different you can go than NIER. I really enjoy the fresh new gear look, the incredible minions, amazing soundtrack, and the insane mechanics (well, insane to me especially on first day run through with no guide). Having literal buildings and modern day trains thrown at you was so fun to me.

I really disliked how the story kind of fell apart during the 2nd installment. I'm not a nier player, but I have watched more hours than I'm willing to admit from youtube videos explaining the story etc. So with my limited knowledge, I thought even with the weirdness of NIER, the story was the biggest disappointment. Sure, things don't make sense in NIER but there is still a storyline you can follow. This raid's storyline just fell apart and never got back together, which was a real shame.

Otherwise, I would encourage Yoshi and team to do more bizarre and fun big crossovers. Each patch with the nier raid was a huge point of excitement for me. Looking forward to what the team does next

I would go a step further and say that I would be completely content for the Devs to simply omit Alliance raids from a future expansion. Imagine if the Royal City of Rabanstre was a 4 floor normal raid tier, instead of being the hour long slog it ended up as, or if Tower was structured similarly.
Alliance raids seem to me to be a symptom of the devs wanting to put a structured story behind encounters that have very little to do with eachother. As is, savage raiders are punished if they don't do the normal raids from the current tier in the "correct" order, by having gear drop allotments be consumed for all previous fights if you so much as step foot into a later instance.

Unless everyone is asleep at their keyboards and controllers, no alliance raid should ever take an hour to complete, let alone Royal City of Rabanastre and the other Ivalice raids. Especially considering they've already been nerfed into the ground via Ilvl creep and the echo buff being active at all times unless you somehow mistakenly click it off.

Also, turning an Alliance Raid into yet another 4 floor normal raid tier when those already exist seems pretty redundant, unless you like all of your arenas being technicolor circles, squares, and maybe even rectangles floating in the sky.

It's ok. I greatly enjoyed all of it. The music and everything. Also for once nice looking gear from the raids that can even be dyed.

Also I ended up buying Nier: Automata and have been slowly playing though it.

I want more cross-over raids. Even though they said they were going back to the original stuff i bet you they will still make cross-over raids. If FFXIV is going to be going on for a while after Endwalker, they will add more cross-over raids. Just not in Endwalker. I don't see why OP hated it. The music and fights were absolutely amazing. As for lore - a little mess. But overall still great.

I still hope they do a FFVII Remake cross-over raid where we bomb the reactors and raid the Shinra HQ. Would love that.

Let's just state this : for some people (seems like a minority, but oh well...)
"Cross-over" raid FF Related : Yes
"Cross-over" raid NOT FF Related : No. Just no

Depends a lot on how people envision what "Collaborations" intel, but I am one who prefers seeing Collaborations as side content only. Not replacing a main content (which to me raids are considered as)

FF is a Theme Park, I get it, but i'd rather see that "Theme Park" mostly FF-related (so i'd rather keep unrelated FF content as "minimum" as possible)

I get that people are enjoying these collabs, and also some would like to see more big collab.
    I don't
