This will never happen because unlike Scholar and Summoner who diverged widely, Bard and Archer/Ranger have a myriad of lore attached to them. They aren't going to suddenly retcon entire job quests to split the two up nor would diverging them now make sense. They stand to lose far more players doing that than those upset with the two concepts being married.
