Well, the original relic bow for BRD the Artemis Bow does have appropriately enough a harp (or more accurately, a lyre) attached to it, and it's arrow quiver is a horn, so that is kind of already in the game anyway.
I still say they had an opportunity to have different Jobs branch off classes when they reworked how SMN/SCH diverge from each other through traits and just different skills learned. Yes I know they did it out of necessity and they struggle and regret the design philosophy behind ACN to SMN/SCH and they'll never do it bla bla but that doesn't detract from it being a pretty good system to make different specs basically. But that's perhaps better served in a game where class balance isn't held up so high that class personality/fantasy becomes lower priority.
All that said Ranger would've been a slam dunk in my opinion but at this point it'll most likely never happen.
Yes, but that wasn't my point. I was referencing the fact Machinist was built with castbars in mind whereas they shoehorned them into Bard. Which is more or less a repeat of what happened in Shadowbringers. They neutered Bard's support identity in favor of giving that role to Dancer with no consideration how it might impact the overall appeal. Lo and behold, it's gone over extremely poorly.

Yea I don't think Yoshi p would give us another pet job. He doesn't like pet jobs in general.
i think yoshi P struggle is more understand pet jobs then not like them they hard to balance against non pet jobs. the question for pets job is how much dps does pet generate and how much does player generate vs how a non pet job player generate
the solution to balance a pet job is pretty easy through
a summoner and her pet equal the same amount dps as does a normal dps job together.
if your black mage= summoner and it pet
if you adopt this view to pet jobs then it work pretty well i like ask yoshi p why is he dislike pet jobs i think normal devs dislike would balance

I think a Ranger would be a great option to the range DPS category.
1.) They could wield dual crossbows and function like the bowmage from the 3.0 era which is something that some people used to like but can no longer play as.
2.) This addition would allow Bard to go more into their support/music roots. Let’s face it bards have become more like rangers over the years rather than Bards and it has created a divide within the job fanbase.
3.) Rangers are a traditional final fantasy job.
Definitely wish we had some kind of pure archer/sagittarius job because I am never touching bard since singing to assist others and support absolutely ruin my archer dps job fantasy.
The tryhard elitist is the person who is going to finish their 5 pieces on this created to be beaten """"challenge"""" and then complaint that the baby, slower or less dexterous person are a problem which not only is toxic but indirectly implies that doing this basic created to be beaten task faster is an """achievement""" of """great skill""" which helps to falsely boost the elitist's self worth as that is their true motive, if challenge was truly their desire they would relish in the chance to do more than the rest.
The healthy person on the other hand will either let people finish their part or assist them for their self worth does not depend on solving basic puzzles created to be beaten, aka as a video game.
They could attach it to the Archer class alongside Bard, similar to how Scholar and Summoner are both attached to the Arcanist class.
