You finally got it. They are a new, similar, species using the same name, because this is a game made on fanservice. Just pretend they're called Viis like in the First. Golmore Jungle isn't the same as it was in XII. Orbonne Monastery isn't the same as it was in Tactics. Fran isn't the same character as in XII, she's just a character who happens to share her name and likeness BECAUSE FANSERVICE.

That doesn't track or make any amount of sense.
If they are that different, then why are they literally using the same...everything? They could have the same effect if they actually changed things. The Viera themselves is fanservice, so you dont need Fran to sell them. If thats not Fran, then whats the point? Any ol Viera with some effort put into the design would be good. Heck some look alike non-canon twin sister with a new name would be better then just using Fran and telling me its not Fran

If the Viera on the 1st was the Viera for all of XIV, it would be one thing. But that is exclusive to the 1st.

By your logic, Hrothgar would not be a new unique race too... as it is tied to the Ronsos.
