I don't care about an extra 5 minutes once or twice but it's gonna be way more than once or twice across my whole playtime.
If you're with a group that can melt big pulls, they will melt smaller but consistent regular pulls in no time flat. It really is just a couple of extra minutes.

If a team is taking 7 to 10 minutes longer with smaller pulls, they probably wouldn't have the dps to get that big pull down before the tanks and healers are out of CDs.

I have definitely had plenty of groups that insisted on wall to wall who should have dialed it back so we could melt the small pulls consistently instead.

They may have had to use every CD they had doing it. If they were commenting on pull size, it sounds like they had struggles. If they used all CDs, they're not going to have anything for the next big pull, so it's mostly likely a pace they can handle one time but not something they can maintain. If I'm pulling out the Cure IIs because everything else is down, I'm definitely asking that group to dial the pulls back.

Should have added more I am a healer so I also know when a healer has to blow everything to keep a tank alive. Though even as a healer if the tank is a paper tank not using cooldowns outside a few dungeons it is still is fairly easy to do damage and keep the tank alive. Sure cooldowns are nice but yeah.

Even with gcd usage if your dps is on point it is still easier to do larger pulls and even in those cases I still find the time to get off damage spells as whm.

Yeah, I've been in groups that have done single pulls. The tank's lack of confidence was usually nullified by the high dps. The clear rate was a couple minutes longer, but it still felt pretty speedy. 2-5 extra minutes is negligible at best, at least to me. Obviously there's going to be that rare dungeon where it feels like an eternity to get through...because it actually is taking that long, but that isn't common.

The worst is getting a paper tank and dps that aren't on point. Had that in Malikah's the other day. Tank had some exarchic pieces, but also like a 400 belt and accessories. We didn't wipe, but dps also weren't up for wall pulls so it was definitely tetchy in places. And the tank wouldn't pull smaller.

I've had wall to wall pull dungeons take an eternity because dps isn't high enough for it so we're taking AGES to down the pull. Even with a good tank and my WHM dps. I'd much rather take a dungeon in that party situation in bite-sized chunks we can mow down one after the other. I have no problem adjusting to small pulls as we need to.

Yeah it can be annoying when you get a paper tank and low dps. That I will grant. Though personally I do not mind it all that much cause it gives me a little more to do.

    My thoughts:

    1. It's the DF, What-You-Get-Is-What-You-Get, stop complaining. If you want consistent times everyday, make some friends.
    2. A good tank/healer/dps can adjust to big pulls and small pulls. A player who is unwilling to is not a good player, just a crybaby.
    3. Profit.

I'll remember this rule when I get 2 afk dps in my expert. They pay their fair share after all, so I just gotta accept it.
