So are you trying to say someone who buys a lotto ticket only once has equal chance of winning to someone who buys many all the time? The placard is a lottery. No one knows exactly how long the timers are and if many people are clicking it constantly any of them could be the winner. A person who stays at the placard constantly is more likely to hit purchase when the window opens than someone who leaves periodically. Some people get lucky and are able to purchase without much or any camping, just like how someone could get lucky and win the lotto with the only ticket they have ever bought. But this doesn't change that the odds are not in your favour if you participate much less.

I'm completely aware of this given I have had to remind many players here that these aren't NA forums, they're forums for English speakers.

Perhaps this is why SE has the timer in its current state. As far as I'm aware they have not commented on it. Regardless of this though having the timer as long as it is does make many feel that they have to stay there for the full duration to have a good chance of success.

It is a player generated issue but if you have been playing mmos for a long time you would know that it's very common for players to go to extremes to get what they want, and if it's a competition for a highly sought limited resource this attitude can creep into other players who would usually not do that. And well for those who don't want to if they're a pc player they sometimes choose to bot.

But the root of the problem goes back to SE making a very bad housing system. The housing content itself is great, which is why so many want a house, but the acquisition process and availability issues are horrendous.
