So I typically have to chew out mentors once or twice a week when they queue for leveling and they try to yell at the low levels for wanting the XP or treasures for gear.

They always whine they want to run through the dungeon as quickly as possible and not everyone here is for leveling.

Which I remind them they queued for leveling and just because they want to keep their mentor status that’s not those players problems.

I absolutely hate mentors they can turn an easy raid into drama when they whine about mechanics. They can seriously turn any situation into a negative one

They qued for a roulette, roulettes exist to help everyone get the content they want done, not to GOGOGOGO "I want my roulette reward" as if this is some sort of competition.

You did the right thing in chewing out those people, because they really forget this is a video game.

The tryhard elitist is the person who is going to finish their 5 pieces on this created to be beaten """"challenge"""" and then complaint that the baby, slower or less dexterous person are a problem which not only is toxic but indirectly implies that doing this basic created to be beaten task faster is an """achievement""" of """great skill""" which helps to falsely boost the elitist's self worth as that is their true motive, if challenge was truly their desire they would relish in the chance to do more than the rest.
The healthy person on the other hand will either let people finish their part or assist them for their self worth does not depend on solving basic puzzles created to be beaten, aka as a video game.

Just clarifying that queuing up for Leveling Roulette has zero bearing on whether or not a mentor keeps their status. You don’t have to touch a single roulette and can keep that. Just stay up to date with each expansion update where they up the requirements in terms of job level requirements.

But, to be fair, it is quite exhausting when you explain fight mechanics and people don’t do them. It’s one thing if the player is new and trying to learn the timing. It’s another if they aren’t new and are just being hard-headed or don’t want to perform their role.

    That's not how mentorship works

Do you mean like full clears? That is not a mentor thing, generally most people do not push for full clears amount of exp is not worth the extra time.

Most people want a speedy run or don't mind a speedy run. You can take 40-50 minutes or you can take 11-20 minutes. I find that 20 minutes isn't too long but isn't too short and stops me from being burned out doing a dungeon like I get from alliance raids. There is a thrill to racing through them too.

If someone wants to go and get treasure, that's fine but I'm not doing that as the tank every time. If they pull the mobs I will aggro them but I'm not going out of my way down all the different caves in Sastasha. If they want to do that they could form a custom party or be the tank themselves. It's not respectful of the randomly-matched party's time to ask that.

Your assumption is that it's a mentor problem. It's an experienced player problem because experienced players have seen it all before and just want to rush through. It just so happens that highly experienced players usually wear a mentor icon.
