dont get me wrong, I am under no illusions that life or games are fair, but this staggering inequality only adds to the frustration over this issue.
Both would be breaking the rules. Bota are breaking the rules. Players engaging in MPKs are breaking the rules.

A better question is why they're more likely to act promptly on one type of offense than another. Is it because GMs have discretion in the case of MPKs and most other offenses but anything bot has to go through the STF?

Yes, that's the way of life, and yes !! I could easily just do dungeons all day and farm tome mats but you forget that ff14 was literally rebuilt on the back of criticism. So yes I'm going to complain and yes I'm going to continue to report!
Are you saying they sold at a loss of 30k, or that they made a profit of 30k?

Because if it's the latter, it's still profit and there's no mention of the other items your friend has crafted and sold. No one is going to be an instant millionaire selling a single crafted item. Crafting has become too easy so crafted items have become a lot more common. As long as you sell for more than what it cost to produce, you're ahead and it will add up over time with the more that you sell.

If someone wants to be an instant millionaire, they should be farming content that drops the truly rare items. I was pricing Orchestrion rolls over night and some of the ones from Bozja and the treasure map dungeons are still selling for close to a million gil each.
