No you shouldn’t stop doing it. You just need to make it clear that it’s for fun and you have no more idea than any other player. Which is something a lot of the top youtubers don’t do.So I am a very small YouTube doing FF14 videos and I did a prediction video for 6.0 and apart from hitting on there being a healer job I got nothing else right.
I thought the expansion would be called forespoken based on previous trademark filings and timeframes however I was wrong. I was also wrong about Chemist being the healer instead of sage. Was also wrong about getting a melee dps.
I do the videos because during these crap times I need something to during my downtime. I’m no where on the level of Happy, Meoni, Zelpha or any other even remotely known Youtuber however because I was wrong should I stop doing something that I’m enjoying and is helping me cope during a global pandemic?
To Speculate: "form a theory or conjecture about a subject without firm evidence."
It's a gamble and more than likely going to be incorrect, especially without firm evidence, so I don't know what you should expect from a speculation video. Just sayin'

I don't know why FFXIV specifically has a fanbase that gets so absurdly hostile towards content creators so often. No wonder it has such a low amount despite being such a popular game.
Predictions are guesswork 99% of the time. Those videos are made just to add/generate discussions.
This is the equivalent of having to add IN MY OPINION at the beginning of every post you make in a forum. Very unnecessary.

I don't watch them much but honestly, who cares? I'd expect them to be wrong. Nobody expected BLU either, much less what it ended up being, until that guy that worked with SE leaked it (and then with dancer and gunblade sort of, and MCH changes). I think nobody could've guessed those simply because we're fed a VERY particular and slim diet of information from the dev team for this very reason.
If people want to make money at it, good for them I guess. It's no different than people who speculate on the stock market and are consistently wrong. It's just one of those things that nobody can predict. They can only make conjectures based on what's out there.
"We want bunny suits for guys!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Ishgard housing!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Viera!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Cloud's motorcycle!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Blue Mage!"-- OK! ✅
"We want the ability to earn past Feast rewards!" - HAHA no that's sacred.

Why would anyone think any youtuber has more info than any other player though? Clearly none of them work for SE so it's speculation on their part just like it is for all players who speculate on this forum and on reddit. It's all for fun and discussion.
Yea I don't get it either.

I am also quite a bit hostile towards content creators. I am not quite sure why. It's not like they are doing anything wrong, they just annoy the living crap out of me. Despite that, I still watch a lot of their videos. It's kind of like the news. I still watch the stuff despite how much I hate it, but I needs be aware of the ridiculous happening around the world. It's not like FFXIV content creators are in abundance or in demand, so I make do with what's there.I don't know why FFXIV specifically has a fanbase that gets so absurdly hostile towards content creators so often. FFXIV is indeed a popular game, and the Final Fantasy series has a large fanbase. However, it's just a smidge on the radars of the gaming community as a whole; and the gaming community is just a smidge on the radars of the population worldwide. That is why I said that the content creators are low in demand, because from a grander perspective FFXIV is a very niche choice to partake in if wanting to be a content creator. Even from only just the gamer demographic. I suppose even though they annoy me, I still respect them for making the decision to allocate their time to bring information to the community. It is commendable to take something you love, and find a way to help others benefit from that.
Perhaps that is why. It resonates in a way that is negative because I have not been able to accomplish the same (probably even the opposite). That can be a tough thing to admit to.

I agree with that to a point. This guy doesn’t need to say every time that he’s just guessing.I don't know why FFXIV specifically has a fanbase that gets so absurdly hostile towards content creators so often. No wonder it has such a low amount despite being such a popular game.

But someone like Mr Happy has genuine sway in the community. When he says ‘we’re most likely getting....’ without anything behind it but it just being something he thinks might happen, you get half the forums believing it.
Like who was the idiot who told everyone the expansion was definetly called forespoken and wouldn’t stop calling it even when it was denied by the developers? Where is that person now and why do they still get to make money doing this for a living?
Because it's not that serious, Vickii.I agree with that to a point. This guy doesn’t need to say every time that he’s just guessing.

Did you get t-shirts made with Forespoken on it or something to get so upset over this?

Why exactly do you care so much? They were wrong, life goes on, their career or whatever you want to call it goes on and if they lose viewership or something over it then that's what'll happen. You seem to want these content creators to be regarded as something to be ignored or not listened to, which is already the case for those that do not watch them. If you don't like them continuing to make money (not that hear youtube pays out that much unless you're HUGE) then make your own channel and rally support against these people who have so terribly wronged the community by leading them astray. Or get over it, that works too.I agree with that to a point. This guy doesn’t need to say every time that he’s just guessing.

Ma’am or Sir.... they are YouTube videos guessing video game content. You don’t even have to watch them. Some people enjoy seeing other people’s guesses outside the toxicity of the forum atmosphere.I agree with that to a point. This guy doesn’t need to say every time that he’s just guessing.

I’m sorry Forespoken wounded you so much.
