How can they doing "mostly wrong" and how can they be "bad at what they do for living", when their goal is entertainment and when there are obviously a lot of people who are entertained by their content?

Yeaaaaah, press X to doubt. Also on the note: Forspoken was a decent guess in context (filed around the time other expansions filed for copyright), they didn't have "nothing" to back it up. If you're going to play the "it's justified criticism" drop the hyperbole. (Also, who the <kupo>? I only follow a few content creators casually and I wouldn't call any of them ugly. Again, if you're talking about someone in particular, speak up, otherwise drop the strawman)
You think ALL they do for a living is speculation? Not... guides, lorecasts, commentary, ultimate streaming...? From the ones I caught: Meoni showcases mounts, minions, and glamours; Uhh Ashe? Someone, does crafting guides; MrHappy is commentary and guides; MTQ (does she still stream?) did guides; Larry does "funny" videos; Ethys does lore Q&As and analysis; GamerEscape is commentary about gameplay content and lore; Speakers of the Realm is commentary... I think only a few jumped into speculation but... SPECULATION, and the video I saw from MrHappy was pretty adamant about saying he's just guessing.
And who the heck is their "boss"? They're their own bosses, the closest to a "boss" they have is their patreons. And even then they're not "bosses" so much as "consumers", and those consumers hold the acquisitional power to... stop consuming. Given that they haven't been bleeding subs, they must be doing something that keeps them happy.

Just to answer this in case anyone is still wondering, yes she does still stream. In fact, she streams almost every single day but doesn't just stream 14 content even though it's still her main streamed game. She will stream prog (currently going through DR Savage) and will basically stream her guides by taking random groups of players (largely focused on her active chat) through current end game content by giving call outs and helping people get their clears.
So your problem is that they earn money by doing this? That's just the nature of content creation. People can post something on the internet, and as long as it can have advertisement, the creator can earn money from it.
Outside of that, it's really no different than anyone posting on forum/reddit to spark discussions.
And speaking of that, here's the latest video (at the time of posting) from Mr. Happy with another expected job speculation/prediction video, with even him saying how he's been wrong several times.

At the end of the day, it's about discussing a topic people can enjoy, not about how a person earns a living, unless you're grateful for the entertainment provided and want to support them. But if not, then don't worry about it and watch for free or not, up to you.
There's not a lot of content or stuff to make content on in this game, let alone mmos.
Nobody wants to watch <personality> grind bozja or blue mage for 8 hours.
This is why you pretty much, get the creating their own content, guessing stuff, hyping things up - making over the top reactions to the trailers.
And I can't blame them, clicks pay the bills.

A lot of the time these content creators are right about their predictions. But this is mainly because of their knowledge and experience of the game (which has a very predictable development cycle), their experience of the development team (who are quite open with us) and their experience playing other FF games (upon which, many features and story plots are inspired to some degree).
There usually are not any significant clues from data mining like in WoW because Square Enix knows people do this and is careful not to put anything there in advance that would spoil everything. Most of the time any spoilers are deliberately provided (in trailers or as hints in the story itself).
They were wrong on this occasion because most of what the community really wanted already got added to the game (except beastmaster, but we don't believe that will be a full job), so it was less predictable this time.
I would say on the whole there are not really any of their videos that I can disagree with what they say. They understand the game and they try to have a fair and balanced view that considers players interested in all aspects of the game (unlike a lot of regular players whose opinion only considers their own interests).
They are human and not perfect though, so you can watch them or not watch them. It's whatever. It's just content for when you're bored.

If I follow your logic: every YT FF has to be soothsayer? There’s all these people making money off of Final Fantasy 14 videos, and they speculated what was going to happen. Meoni, Mr Happy, Zepla, that everyday gaming channel..
And once again not a single one predicted sage and all of their videos turned out to be a waste of time.
Just wondering why this is. If this was world of Warcraft they would have correctly predicted the destination, the story, the jobs, the main features and everything else. Mists of Pandaria seemed out of left field yet the whole thing was predicted way in advance.
Do Japanese companies just have less leaks? Or are the youtubers worse? At this point I don’t see what worth they really have to the community as they’re always wrong.
No one saw it coming, as he is not dating Yoshi-P or a dev in confidence and how much more so.
Why is that a problem?
And for WoW well, they take a lot of inspiration from Warhammer and Warhammer is now doing the same.
And why is that still a problem?

Huh... Aren't you taking it too seriously, tho? I don't think their videos are a waste of time... It's fun to make speculations about what's to come, keeps the hype alive. Same as forum threads that do the same thing (sans the trolls ofc). There’s all these people making money off of Final Fantasy 14 videos, and they speculated what was going to happen. Meoni, Mr Happy, Zepla, that everyday gaming channel..

They are all pretty cringe. MrHappy is way too loud in his guides.
