February 5th Announcement, Realistic Expectations Thread

They have to move units more than ever now, with how much money they lost making that Marvel title. I would not be shocked if this expansion had like, 4 or 5 jobs. I would not be shocked if it was the ToAU equivalent in 14; many regard that expansion as the best one. With the blow their fiances took with that title, they need the next expansion to be perhaps, the best one yet. They need to bring in new players, and keep the loyalist.

I would not be shocked if this one was a letdown, or if this expansion was the best one yet. Anything is fair game imo....

Yeah, this is where I am at too. Yoshida has always been careful with his choice of wording when it comes to announcements, fanfests and the like.
He's even gone so far as to tell us to temper our excitement and lower our expectations in the past, so if he is outright saying to have high expectations, then he means it.

People keep bringing up the Avengers but if you looked at the yearly earnings from their gacha games like Kingdom Hearts Unchained X + Dark Road, Brave Exvius, etc. etc. you'd realize that the hit is easily recoupable in at least a few months time as those games make them way more than they realistically should.

I'm not going to differentiate between realistic and unrealistic, and just give my hopes.

1 new healer
SCH changes so the kit doesn't fight itself
Female Hrothgar and male Viera
Hair and hat problems fixed for Hrothgar and Viera
Ultimates and Deep Dungeons unlocked for BLU
Trust system in all pre-ShB story dungeons
Prae and Castrum changed into solo instances, MSQ roulette changed to have all mandatory story dungeons in it
50/60/70 roulette gets better rewards so it's worth doing more

Apparently everything is solved with the "It can't be done currently" and people will just simply buy it. I wish I could solve every problem like that too.

Seriously, I'm not trying to sounds as a hater, because I love this game, but just because of that I would like it to be improved and I see certain aspects have been going downhill for a while now and people just seem perfectly fine with it because "current limitations." Player counts have gone from 6 millions to over 22 millions according to the numbers they show in their trailers and limitations just seem to get harsher. So, raise you standards and don't settle for whatever they throw at you. These are the guys who developed ARR behind the scenes while putting an end to 1.0

Agree with you that they need to step it up. This is totally not the time to take a step back.

Player count reaching 22 million is no joke and with bigger reach comes bigger responsibility and accountability. Harsher judgment and criticism will come, and just like that 22 million can be gone.

Correct, although the metric which is more reliable (luckybancho's survey) has shown growth - especially over Stormblood. But they have some trouble with retention. They're at around 900k as per the most recent one, down from a high of 1,2m recorded in August. The 22m figure is, as you say, meaningless.

With that said, I'm going in expecting very little. If he's genuine about the "high expectations" thing, all the better. Seeing is believing.

They haven’t cared for the past 4-5 years from what I’ve seen.

- Job reveal (healer at least)
- More Zenos ( I don't want to but...)

What I'd love to see:

-More character customization
-A graphic overall

I am expecting very little, title drop, trailer video and maybe some photos. I think they will save most info for the May event. Due to the lack of pve content, I have been so bored I have not logged in for weeks. I only login enough to maintain my house.

I love the game but I have run out of content. Dungeons have gone from 3 to 1 and I would not be surprised if it goes to 0. The casual content raids and trials have been getting increasingly difficult to the point that is no longer casual but savage lite.

Because of all of this... I have been spending my time in Genshin Impact. I want to come back but I have to have a reason.
