Remove Gender-Lock From Gear / Glamour Please

Of course it's not just a switch that would be flipped. I'm well aware that they'd need to invest some time and work into adjusting the glams for all body types. Which is why my post called out specifically outfits from the online shop. Customers would PAY for an un-gender-locked costume.

I know it takes extra time to re-fit outfits for all character models, but these are glams, and it's 2021. There is no timeline to keep. No rush to get them on the shop. So please, take the time to adjust them to all models.

I did not quote you. I was not responding to necessarily you. I was responding in general, as my post states "to the extent some people would want actually". Though, no, I did not read your post. You caught me.

I'd prefer to see the current approach continue. The moment hairstyles began to be designed to be 'unisex' the design began to shift towards the majority being made to be feminine or androgynous. Yet even then, they manage to be made in such a way that many female characters do not want to use them as they're not quite as long or elegant as they'd like them to be. We've also seen the number of new hairstyles added to the game reduced over time. I'd rather not see that problem begin to afflict armour and casual glamour as well.

Games such as Monster Hunter World also do very well for themselves by designing gear to look different on both a male and female character model. With how much the development team have on their hands already, I'd much prefer to not see them given extra work when there's so many other glaring issues that could be addressed instead.

As a gay guy, personally I'd like to see more masculine looking options for male characters over more female exclusive outfits being unlocked. Especially when the number of male characters using formerly female exclusive glamour is much smaller than the number of female characters using formerly male exclusive glamour. Maybe the developers can add eyebrows for Highlander men and the stubble that the Warrior of Darkness uses in promotional footage?

Agreed to an extent. I think males would actually get the short end of the stick with universal glams, more often than not too. Less masculine attire, in general.

I remember months ago, I saw on reddit that people somehow datamined the maid outfit, alongside with other female-specific items and the bride gown, unlocked to male characters in the game files. After a while they made the bride dress available, with some of the other pieces gender-unlocked. This makes me think that they are just giving drop by drop, to keep the hype, maybe?

But since the maid/butler outfit is a mogstation item, I dunno what's keeping them for releasing the unlock, since it will instantly become more interesting to be purchased. I personally would LOVE the tailcoat in my alt, which happens to be a female character. We have the wedding one, yeah, but I think the butler tailcoat is much more interesting and less obviously matrimonial.

One the only actual arguments against lifting gender lock restrictions that makes sense and isn't "omg!!! ThE lIbErAlS wanna wear dresses on male toons! the world will end!"

IMO I personally think that going forward, gear shouldn't be gender locked. Lifting restrictions on past items should be on a as-needed/as-wanted basis, with the items that the playerbase wants the most taking precedent. Then if they have time, going little by little.
