I know. I really, really wish they never would have lifted the restrictions on those items. Now threads like this just won't stop anytime male/female sets are released with restrictions. "Give 'em an inch...", I suppose.
BTW OP, restrictions like these won't impede their sales much, if at all. Many items are gifted, and fantasias factor in as well.

Well, they missed out on a sale from me and several of my friends, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm a self-proclaimed Fantasia addict who buys quite a lot off the Online Shop (but I still only play female characters). There are a lot of gender-locked outfits on the Online Shop that I would buy right now if they would refit the meshes for all body types. I also know a LOT of people who laid down $36 the day the Collegiate set was put up on the shop (instead of just $18 if the outfits had been gender-locked like the Errant's Attire).
So, you can claim that having the gender-lock restrictions won't impede sales much. I say they do. Without lifting gender-lock restrictions and comparing sales figures, neither of us will know who is right.

It honestly depends on where it was made. If it was a china only item that was brought over I can see why the locks exist. If not then maybe they just had a vision/design for male and females and didn't want to change it?
I agree that females, should be able to wear pants. Same with males and skirts, i know some players who enjoy that. But i enjoy gender locking as well as a male player who plays a male character.
I just don't like anything when it comes to female outfits, i'd just play a female to use it. It just doesnt look good on males imo.
Some outfits that are the same for male or female are too feminine imo (some weird boob windows sometimes etc).
If i were to ask to make some gear made for females more attractive for all players who enjoy manly outfits (and not only the ones who like to wear feminine stuff), would all players who plays females say yes ? I'm not sure xD. That would mean less feminine stuff. A LOT of things will do great on girls but less for males, it's unfair sometimes.
For me and other players (or maybe i'm alone lol) genderlocking is not that bad.

If you don't want the female version on a male character (or vice versa), you could just.....not buy it?
I mean, you'd still have to deal with other people wearing it, but you already can't stop a dude from wearing the bunny outfit or wedding dress or 2B's costume, so that ship's already sailed.
Endlessly surprised by people fighting for limitations on the basis of "well, I don't personally want it." I'd never play a male character or wear a dress on it. I wouldn't dress my male retainers in skirts and stockings, it's not something I find pleasing to look at at all. It's still something I think should be an option, though. If you don't want the female version on a male character (or vice versa), you could just.....not buy it?

Yeah but then i don't see the point of sharing gear with females either if you don't like female stuff play a male. I just don't gain anything from it so no, i'm good with genderlocking.
