Alphinaud's epic 'reason you suck' speech to Vauthry (when Vauthry asked Alphinaud to paint his portrait) the first time you arrived in Eulmore springs to mind as it summed up perfectly just how broken the city was (and by extension, the entire First):

"What you need is a mirror, not a painting. It will capture the horror I see before me far better than I ever could."

Of course, that then earned Alphinaud his eternal and relentless ire after that (as well as for healing the seriously wounded Kai-Shirr), but it was such a perfect put-down to that twisted monster.

Also, the hilarious comment after Varis shoots 'Solus' (aka, Emet), utterly stony faced, while still holding his smoking gun:

"You fiends always were overfond of the sound of your own voices."

Well, it's true!

Pretty much any of the lines used by Agrias or Thundergod Cid during their Orbonne Monestary fights qualify in my book.

"Seven shadows cast, seven fates foretold. Yet at the end of the broken path lies death, and death alone!"

"Open your eyes to the darkness, and drown in its loveless embrace. The gods will not be watching."

I even enjoy Cid's rumbling, intrigued "Show me more..." Though, after his fight got nerfed into the floor, I can only imagine him disappointedly muttering, "Show me less..."

glad to see its not just me that approves of TGcid's lines and the disappointment at his unneccessary nerf.

Hell, just the very first line he says in battle gave me goosebumps, followed by a rather justified bout of panic when he uses cleansing strike. I'll never forget doing that as an Ast on my first run

I play with Japanese audio, but I often turn on English for Zurvan just to hear “SUFFER IN ENDLESS TORMENT”. Back when it was the current EX primal, that line was such a mood in PF.

For some of my favorite quotes, they tend to be the original Japanese... but one in particular I like from the level 50 DRK quest:

英雄の影身 : [PLAYER]……？
英雄の影身 : っ……僕は…………
僕は君の、英雄にはなれない部分です。
英雄の影身 : それでも、まだ……
[PLAYER NAME]でいられるのかな。

Your “Darkside” is called Hero’s Shade/Hero’s Shadow in the Japanese instead of taking on your name. Interestingly enough, the word “kagemi” can also be translated as “person at one’s side”—which just really adds to the entire mood of the quest chain surround you and your “Darkside”. This line is what they say to you before you commune with them the last time. (In the English, they say: “Listen to my voice. Listen to our heartbeat. Listen...”)

The Japanese says, roughly, “[Player], I am the you that could not be a hero. But I wonder if I can be with you once more.” When I looked up the Japanese, I found the quest far more touching compared to the English. There’s a tumblr post with the full translation here. I can only translate bits and pieces myself, so this post helped me understand it more fully.
