A gil sink? Kind of, but not really. At least nothing of any substance. It wouldn't put much of a dent in the amount of gil people have. It also wouldn't flush out the "black market" at all because the gil amounts would be trivial anyway. So...we're back to square one.

The FC route exists, though it's not available for those who are members in some other FC and don't want to leave it. To further discourage that abuse, there could be some kind of restriction of leadership transfer, like you have to be a member of the FC for a month or two before you can be made the leader. That won't make shell FCs entirely useless for house flipping, but should lower the throughput and tie up resources for the flippers.

Which would be bad for everyone trying to get a house, not just resellers. It would do more harm than good in the long run. People just don't realize that, apparently.

Reselling will never be stopped as long as the price houses are sold for fails to reflect anything close to the true value. Placard prices should have been raised years ago; the second best time would be now. No number of rules or regulations or Byzantine processes will prevent it until then.

Well put in a required 1 year of subscription then to buy, then you would.. flush out the gil farmers bots, as they usually get suspended after a month or two.

It increases competition significantly, so the chances of getting a house just went from "well, probably not..." to "lol not in a million years". Neither parties are more deserving of a plot than the other, but you need to consider the ramifications. It doesn't fix the underlying issues plaguing housing. A raffle would take the biggest problem (supply and demand) and suddenly make it significantly worse for the average player.

O.o You are going from competeing with a few people at a placard. To going against everyone on your world who does not have a house...tell me how your odds are now better. In a raffle the more people enter the lower your chances of winning are.
