Would a raffle system be that hard?

For those who don't have house this process is absolutely stupid. We are here to play, not click a sign for 30 mins to 24 hours. Make a raffle system that you put your name in for drawing. When the timer is up the system at random draws a person who is still logged in and not AFK. Then you know, WE CAN PLAY THE GAME?!?!? Oh and wait for it, if that person doesn't come claim in 15 minutes.... then it draws another name. PLEASE DO THIS. Or just make it so everyone can have a house. Something PLEASE.

That would still require the player to be up for 20+ hours. Just have a raffle system that draws from anyone who registered for it. If the player hasn't claimed their prized house within 24 to 48 hours of winning the raffle, it goes back into the market.

A lot of people play this game for the housing, It's amazing and SE did a great job on it.. minus the way you can acquire it.

Some ways that would work better:

-Raffle system as you noted
-Opening up another 12 wards in each housing area, if we need another subdivision in each then do that too.

Benefits of more housing:

-More draw for players interested in that aspect of play
-Realm economy! Crafters having stuff to craft, people having reason to buy more things!

House hunting is such a drag and it's such a letdown, and the demo system didn't prevent rmt like it was intended to.

No no, I said they have 15 minutes to claim it. If not claimed in 15 it goes to next person online. That system would far better because I could go crafting, roulettes, missons, quest, ANYTHING BESIDES CLICKING A SIGN.

That would not be fair to those who have a life to live outside of the game. Say you register for a raffle, then have to go to work. You win the raffle somehow, but can't claim it for another 4 hours. That would absolutely suck. 24-48 hours is plenty enough time to give everyone a fair chance to win and claim their prize. You will still be able to do anything but the clicking.

Even decorating has its problems. I still can't put furniture on top of a loft without relying on a glitch.

That would be better than what we have now. Not a fix to the terrible timer system, but at least you can plan ahead your clicking frenzy. Still sucks, though.

And I heard ESO and WoW have much better housing (but aren't as good in any other area than ffxiv)

Those people can move on to the next available raffle, or get a notice about their placement once the raffle is done.
