    I think it's worth looking at Bravely Default II for new jobs. Bravely Second came out around the same time as Heavensward, and both featured the new Astrologian as a buffing class.

    If we look at the latest job reveals from Bravely Default II, we see that they are bringing in Beastmaster to the series - a job prevalent in the Bozjan area. I think this will be another Astrologian situation from BS/HW.

    Another job of note is Pictomancer - basically a Relm inspired job. If we look at the new painting emote, this could be a hint toward a painting/art inspired mage of sorts.

    This not including Blue mage which might count as one (Even though i don't count it as a job per se but more of a side content) Which would point to us most likely getting a healer (Ideally) and a Melee or caster. Higher chance for melee if they do count blue mage as a caster rep.

    Limited seems like it would cancel itself out as a consideration. If you add it, then you also should consider other limited classes being added to the game, which I'd kinda expect then we'd see BST as a Melee.

    The numbers with the releases kinda line up with the balancing thing I think they've mentioned.
    * HW brought the tanks and healers up to three, equal with Melee, and PhyR up to two equal with Casters.
    * SB skipped PhyR so we didn't double up, brought Casters to three equal with the rest and moved Melee to four.
    * SHB we get another PhyR to keep pulling them closer to the rest and moves tanks to four jobs.

    6.0 having a Healer and Caster would follow the existing pattern and, presumably, we'd see another PhyR in 7.0. They could even stop there leaving things at four jobs for each role, or move into 5 jobs per.

    You know how they be sometimes I wouldn't be surprised that they do count it as a rep for the role. I actually think if they do BST a limited job it's gonna be a tank since all the BST's they have in bozja (except lyon who is a beast by himself) are wearing the Neo ishgardian Tank set (I took pictures and everything don't judge me XD). I would say its because they use GLD animations but i don't think they have that limitation when it comes to enemy mobs.

    I just want another full job that uses maiming and scouting gear QuQ i need more reasons to have this gear yo. And you know another pet job >.>

    Not sure about a new job, but I'd bet money on Samurai getting an AoE version of Shoha. SE likes to do that, using resources we already have for other skills later on, like Gurren and then Senei, or Forbidden Chakra and Enlightenment.

    A new HLR or ranged physical would be great to like get rid of the "Heavy, middle, and light weight" design philosophy if they wanted to get away from "pure HLR" and the middle ground classes being way to op or really weak

    BLU getting to go to LV90 with removed restrictions would be really nice for magical DPS

    And then like a new game taking the best iterations of the current jobs and fixing a number of issues like the strict DPS focused design and status effect. And then adding like six new jobs would be really exciting!

    I'd more expect it as DPS potentially with different pets letting you act as different roles, following the example of BLU. Though, by extension of that, the roles assignment seems pretty irrelevant to limited jobs right now.

    Also, I think if you're looking beyond the actual roles though you can also twist it any way you like heh.
    DoW has had 6 jobs added since the launch of ARR where DoM has only had 2. Similarly, if Healers get one in 6.0 then every role except Casters would have had two new roles added. Same if you exclude tanks and healers really.

    Personally, I look at unique armour types as a benefit because it can mean more individually focused aesthetics for that job rather than like long flowing robes on RDM bouncing around the battlefield heh.

    Yea i meant that it'd be under the tank's when you go to the role page but you'd be able to use different pets for different roles...even though i don't have too much fate in them making the field/dungeon content fun to me but that's just me being selfish really.

    Wouldn't it be 4 for DoM since arcanist and it's branches were added in ARR? Your point still stands but I would count those still.

    I get that, what I mean is that given BLU is the same i'd expect it to be listed as a Melee DPS role, arguably if they used maiming gear they'd also get a selection of tank-like armour to use.
    But yeah, having limited jobs listed within the current roles doesn't make much sense anyway, seems more logical to have a separate "Limited" role under DoW and DoM instead.


    Heh, not including arcanist was a subtle example. But yeah whether you include arcanist likely comes down to views on 2.0 really? I don't consider it an addition because it was included at the relaunch, so the classes available at the new beginning point for the game are all the initial classes. Indicated by arcanist being an option at character creation. That then leaves NIN as the first job added since the relaunch.

    I guess also I think some of the arguments for melee seem more like issues with the current stuff? Like if PhyR and Casters aren't distinct enough roles should that be looked at, same if Melee doesn't have enough presence in raids.

    While she's always had the double pistols, I think this is the first time we've seen her actually use them in battle as a companion NPC, rather than being limited to cutscenes.

    She doesn't participate in the Grand Melee in HW and she doesn't get featured in the battle at Ghimlyt Dark even though all the other leaders do.

    (Though if they did add it as a job, they either need to make it scouting for the sake of gear distribution, or rethink the whole aiming/scouting arrangement.)
