

It's why SE needs to add more supply, and optimize the existing supply.It is exceptionally rare for players to get the exact house they want first time. Most just settle for whatever is available. And because houses are in such short supply almost anyone with a house has crushed someone else's dreams to get one. It's just a fact of this awful system.
Add more supply even though some worlds still have surplus? Unless there is a complete overhaul of housing; which is unlikely, then it's up to the players to compromise as most of the issues have been made by said base anyway. Some worlds are well overpopulated, though SE isn't going to treat those ones any different and give more supply specifically to those struggling. You could hope that new worlds may be added in the future and there is the opportunity to buy something, but the usual players tend to be too stubborn to move anywhere so supply issues would still persist regardless.

Telling people to move off of the populated servers (what if they like being on them?) doesn't solve anything.





Especially when you consider that most players will not try to get housing until after they're already invested in the game (due to the prerequisites of purchasing and the cost), which often means they're already invested in being in a specific fc. Cross world linkshells exist but they're not the same.
Additionally the game doesn't inform you of the problems regarding housing acquisition. Personally I had no idea there were any issues at all until I became interested in having a house, which was quite a while after I hit max lvl in HW. By that point I was already in a fc I liked.
Aaaaand...transferring costs real money. Players shouldn't have to spend additional real money to get access to playable content. We already pay a sub.

SE has stated all servers must have the same number of houses under their system. Housing isn't considered to be a problem until all plots on the data center are full. Balmung has no plots? Guess Balmung has too many people. Incentivized server transferring exists so that players will solve the problem of overpopulated servers themselves.
Players are allowed to prefer overpopulated servers, but then they will have to deal with the downsides of playing on a server that's overpopulated. Sort of self-explanatory.
Except there are no players eligible for transfer incentives right now other than those on Tonberry. All other worlds have been changed to Standard or Preferred.Then they're welcome to choose that. Housing is only an incentive to transfer if the player has a extremely high chance of being able to purchase a house right after they transfer. What worlds would you suggest right now for someone who's looking for a house?

NA is cleaned out.
I only visited about 20 JP worlds on Friday. I didn't bother checking Tonberry or the couple of other higher pop worlds because I already knew I wouldn't find any on them. Two had what could be considered a surplus. Most were down to 10-20 - that's not a surplus. Four had none left.
I didn't check EU but I'm doubtful any worlds other than Spriggan and Twintania have more than a few left, and even they might not have that many considering how popular they got with the people who like to run shell FCs for extra garden and workshop access.
We know SE is working to make changes to the housing system because they aren't any happier than the player base is. We don't know how extensive those changes will be or when they'll be implemented in game. But the problems are not created by the player base. They are created by a system that's inadequate for meeting increasing demand from a growing player base. That is SE's responsibility to fix.
