Having the plot you've wanted for months taken out from under you because someone relocated, I loath. It is absolutely unfair that someone who already owns a house gets to come over and just snag a plot while house-less people like me have to wait for the timer.

I hate that I'm going to have to do this to another player by buying a house somewhere I don't like, waiting for a plot I want to become available, relocating to it, and crushing their dream of having a house there.

I'm disappointed, I'm furious, and most of all I'm appalled that someone thought this is okay and had it implemented.

It's wrong and unfair. This needs to change.
Now i see why I still can get a house plot even my que was like 1080 when I got my plot
For first time plot buyer, you always go to the plot available instead of your ideaL plot.
Someone even made a thread about this too before new wards release
For future reference, your ideaL plot is highly likely also other people's ideal plot. Beggar cant be chooser when you know there is limited supply.
I am able to move to Shirogane in older ward after 2 years (last plot release) from a very bad location in Lavender Bed.
Keep this in mind and wish you a better luck next round

It is true, SE pretty much shut the mouths from Balmung with World Visit.
We don't hear that excuse nowadays

They could add a tax you have to pay weekly for your plot.
Like 2% of your purchase price a week.

So big plots can only be owned for a long time by FCs or player who have the money to fill the house with stuff.
And you would think twice if you really want the housing.

Also, a garage were you could place all the unneeded furniture would be nice.
Because right now my house is just used as one.

Every house, apartment and fc room has its own storage equal to what can be placed inside (and outside in the case of houses). If you need more space to stash furniture, you might consider purchasing an apartment and/or an fc room.

Or just getting rid of the excess items. Most housing items are cheap and easy to reacquire.

Every time I finish redecorating, I go through what's left in my storage and desynth or vendor items that can be purchased cheap or are easily crafted. That way I never run out of storage space for the seasonal event items or other items that are difficult or expensive to obtain. The only items that need to go on one of my retainers are the interior/exterior fixtures that can't be placed in storage, and i do the same with those - get rid of the ones that can be easily replaced.

I mean you get storage in the house itself. I use an apartment which includes storage vs my house storage. its the little trolly box icon in the housing layout window.

That's actually the upkeep mechanic of the house in LotRO... as they let you keep the house as long as you paid the upkeep, and if that lapsed long enough eventually you lost the house. IMO that's a better mechanic than what FFXIV is doing with activity because it also doubles as a money sink, and we definitely need more gil sinks in FFXIV, and allows for someone to keep a house going so long as someone is paying the rent (useful if someone needs to take an extended break).

    Twintania on 18/10/2020:

Goblet had plenty of smalls off the timer and some mediums off the timer in multiple wards:

Mist had plenty of smalls off the the timer in multiple wards:

LB had the least number of open smalls in multiple wards:

It sucks that with the persistent ward system, people have to decide whether housing is a higher priority than their communities etc on their existing server.

When autodemo resumes, the low pop servers will have even more open plots. So people have to decide based on the reality SE has imposed on us.

So that's nice for the EU players. They can transfer to whichever of the 2 worlds is in their current data center, get a house and continue to play with their friends without having their game performance change from what it currently is. I'll make certain to point any EU players to those 2 worlds.

It doesn't help the players on the NA worlds. We have no worlds here with houses available. Players would have to transfer to different regions. They would have to give up playing with their friends. They would need to struggle with poor connectivity trying to play through basic content (drove me nuts when I made my EU and JP data center characters last year).

You can nitpick about Balmung players wanting to play on an overpopulated world but the truth is they're not the only overpopulated NA world. Balmung's been a Standard world since April. The only NA worlds getting marked as Congested in recent months have been on Aether and Primal. If we use the average population on the JP worlds as a standard, every NA world is overpopulated.

SE controls how many worlds there are for players to chose from in a region and the number of worlds controls the housing supply for that region. The current problem is not one that NA players created.
