The timer, I get. First come first click, I get.

Having the plot you've wanted for months taken out from under you because someone relocated, I loath. It is absolutely unfair that someone who already owns a house gets to come over and just snag a plot while house-less people like me have to wait for the timer.

I hate that I'm going to have to do this to another player by buying a house somewhere I don't like, waiting for a plot I want to become available, relocating to it, and crushing their dream of having a house there.

I'm disappointed, I'm furious, and most of all I'm appalled that someone thought this is okay and had it implemented.

It's wrong and unfair. This needs to change.

This is why you get a undesirable plot and relocate when your dream plot is available.

It is exceptionally rare for players to get the exact house they want first time. Most just settle for whatever is available. And because houses are in such short supply almost anyone with a house has crushed someone else's dreams to get one. It's just a fact of this awful system.

Being able to relocate is one of the better features in my opinion. That at least frees up a plot somewhere else. It's the timer that is the issue and needs to be fixed.

It's why SE needs to add more supply, and optimize the existing supply.

Add more supply even though some worlds still have surplus? Unless there is a complete overhaul of housing; which is unlikely, then it's up to the players to compromise as most of the issues have been made by said base anyway. Some worlds are well overpopulated, though SE isn't going to treat those ones any different and give more supply specifically to those struggling. You could hope that new worlds may be added in the future and there is the opportunity to buy something, but the usual players tend to be too stubborn to move anywhere so supply issues would still persist regardless.

How about you spend a day on another world on your datacenter, and see how well you can play normally first?

At best, that's what a player would have to do if they want to keep the same FC. Otherwise this "suggestion" basically means turning your back on everyone on your home server and uprooting just for a house.

And people wonder why there's resistence.....

I have multiple alts on different worlds, I know full well how it is in other places so little less with the cheek if you don't mind. Though with Cross World visits and the potential it has to be improved upon in the future (even cross data centre visits has been talked about), crying about turning your back on people is becoming less of a valid excuse. If you want a house and your on a world with lots of demand, fact is no amount of extra supply would be enough and there has to be compromise somewhere.

That's where alternatives (like an instance based housing system) come to mind.

Telling people to move off of the populated servers (what if they like being on them?) doesn't solve anything.

Where is all this surplus you claim exists? Have you even bothered to visit worlds other than your own since last Tuesday?

    NA is cleaned out.

I only visited about 20 JP worlds on Friday. I didn't bother checking Tonberry or the couple of other higher pop worlds because I already knew I wouldn't find any on them. Two had what could be considered a surplus. Most were down to 10-20 - that's not a surplus. Four had none left.

I didn't check EU but I'm doubtful any worlds other than Spriggan and Twintania have more than a few left, and even they might not have that many considering how popular they got with the people who like to run shell FCs for extra garden and workshop access.

We know SE is working to make changes to the housing system because they aren't any happier than the player base is. We don't know how extensive those changes will be or when they'll be implemented in game. But the problems are not created by the player base. They are created by a system that's inadequate for meeting increasing demand from a growing player base. That is SE's responsibility to fix.
