Do you know how many people are standing in The Goblet poking at houses on timers when they were told they would be able to get one today?
All the houses were gone within 5 minutes, and it took some of us longer than that to get in because the launcher is crap and the queue times were insane.

So who are you to judge?

It's 2020, we've had autoscaling server instances for years now. I managed to get a nice house. Doesn't mean that staying up until 3 AM once every two years hoping that the miracle of a good login queue position actually gets you into the homeownership game isn't the stupidest housing system I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

Yet another fantastic and massive failour in from Square Enix.
THey managed to try and "fix" something by just piling in a tiny amount of new plots in to a gaping chasm. Its like trying to fix a hole the size of the atlantic ocean witha cork from a bottle.

Now I was in queue for 10 minutes and a little more. I was in the housing districts so fast that I was amazed by myself. But despite that they where all gone. Each and everyone.
The ones that was left was those that had gotten in, got a plot and relocated. Leaving behind the click bait akak plots where you have to sit and try out clicking bots to buy after x amount of unknown time.
So the winners here are the lucky few and those who use bots to buy houses. And each house try I been at the last uncountable times, been with at least 2 users of bots.

Now I will suggest a fix of the whole system.
A start on things like this could have been simple. One could have implemented that all relocations was temporarily disabled for at least 24 hours.

Another fix is a overhaul of the system. And mind you I don't consider that jumbled mess a system. But my suggestion is to make it berrable. Not perfect but at least berrable.
One way to do so is to make it a lottery form instead.
Each player go to the plaque. Put in the amount asked for, and go play the game as they please.
After the X amount of time is gone, the game draw among all those that went for it, and pulled out the winner. The winner got a message that they had X amount of hours to go get it. And here I would sugest 12-24 hours. To allow for real life.
Now all else are refunded their cash and can go and try again on the next house.

Relocation etc can work as it do already, bypassing that as it seems SE want it to.

They don't even need to do that LOTRO had a housing system similar to FF14, wards with different sized houses, when a ward filled up it automagically added a new ward. Wards are nice for social interaction.

More to this, new wards were added when houses of one size were filled. Like, if there's no Large or Medium avalable, bam, new ward is ready, go get one there. There was a problem with lots of kinda empty wards, cuz all the small houses were never filled, but with the prices FFXIV charging for M and L houses I don't thik that would really be an issue.

Wow! Another failed attempt and rage quit.
Since the housing came out I tried to get a plot. Each met with massive failour. Now stop trying to fix it by adding plots. Redo the system because this is starting to become embaressing for the whole game, and is only turning people away from the game.

Yes I rage quetted today. It was just to bad and really now its enough. The whole thing is so bad its not even hillarious any more. Its just a sad poor broken piece of the game that is amazingly allowed to stay alive

I did this...I didn’t know there would be a timer incurred on the previous house. Shortly after I relocated, I saw a bunch of angry people in /shout saying there were timers up and immediately wondered if that was my fault. Shrugged it off, started decorating, then about 30 min later I ran past the plot I relocated off of and there were a bunch of people waiting at the placard. Realized it was definitely my fault.

There should be something that says a timer will be incurred so this doesn’t happen in future ward expansions. I wouldn’t have relocated if I knew it would’ve made it harder for others...oof, honestly seeing that group of people camping the placard makes me feel incredibly guilty.
