Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
100% a fake story.What is up with the phenomenon of healers being ego maniacs?
I tanked a lvl 71 dung last night where the healer was a male roe with no clothes on and a suggestive name who kept pulling ahead of me. The third pull I died followed by the dps and he finished the last 2 mobs remaining solo and then proceeded to say he was very skilled and pulled the boss while me and the 2 other dps were still running back.
The second boss, I had to afk (I think i was afk for 2 minutes) because I heard a loud bang downstairs, and when I got back they (I’m assuming the healer) had pulled the boss and kept everyone alive, and once the boss died he said “having a tank is useless LMFAO” and sprinted & pulled every single pack until the last boss where he miraculously waited.
At the end of the dungeon he did a squat & push-up emote and told me I need to learn how to pull faster with an air kiss emote
I just had to share that experience because it was probably the most toxic person I’ve ever encountered in this game.
First of all, the healer couldn't have "pulled every single pack until the last boss" because, in holminster switch (the lvl71 dungeon), the last few packs prior to the final boss are STAGGERED by the game and do not even appear until you kill the previous pack. Are you telling me that you took so long to pull that the healer went through that whole section of the dungeon where you kill one pack at a time before you got back? If so, then that's your fault, why should you expect the rest of the group to wait that long for you when they can do the rest just fine without you?
not sure fake or not. but if it true, sounds like the healer is actually a tank player who in the middle of leveling his healer class and just want to get it done fast so he can go back to his supreme tanking class.
either way, that's how mmorpg pug works, sometimes you draw the short straw, sometime you get good pug sometime you get someone like this. just report/blacklist him and done.
just another eventful day lol
Thanks for all the replies everyone, next time this happens I’ll probably just leave. Also I wasn’t aware of the duty finder stories thread, I’ll remember that one!
^^^ last few posts, I didn’t mean he pulled every pack at once up to the last boss, he was pulling the single packs and Holy stunning them. He was indeed a skilled healer, but for some reason in a really big hurry lol
Or just party tired waiting for singlepull tank, so they run foward with healer ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Yes yes, tell more in topic, that single pack in acceptable, it's very funny.
Being "better" at tanking doesn't magically prevent you from dying on big pulls. Lag, delay, lack of available CDs, not in line of sight for the healer or any other unexpected event can cause a wipe.
There is nothing to get better at even. As long as no monster is hitting others, you use CDs and you're not spinning them around like crazy - you're good at tanking because that's the whole job. "Big pulls" isn't in the job description.
You're not the special snowflake to decide for every single party member on the pace of the run.
You forcing me into your playstyle is harming my experience then, should we do a votekick war? That's ridiculous and pretty damn toxic. Chat exists, you know.
If I get kicked out of a party of elitist people like you I'll be damn happy I didn't have to put up with this til the end of the dungeon so feel free.
It's not even 'big pulls'... we're talking about Tanks pulling only one pack (usually 3 enemies) at one time at high level dungeon... That is not really a playstyle that should be commended since yes, it's a waste of everyone's time. It's not like pulling 2 packs instead of just 1 is making it more difficult or anything...Being "better" at tanking doesn't magically prevent you from dying on big pulls. No one called you toxic for simply wanting bigger pulls.
Things that are not toxic;
- Wanting bigger pulls/fast dungeon
- Wanting players to improve and know how to do their jobs to make your experience and others enjoyable
- Getting annoyed with a player with the sufficient skill/gear intentionally slowing down a dungeon
Things that are toxic;
- The god complex of expecting players (Tanks in this case) to bend at your whims or meet your trusty ol' Vote Kick
- Kicking players due to sub-par performance in Dungeons no less which is a bit overkill (This isn't Savages/Ultimates)
- Thinking that every tank that happens to not or unable to wall to wall is intentionallythere out to get you for the sake ofwasting your time
Unfortunately there's a huge disparity between the reality of things vs your expectations.
Let's face it, for the average player hitting 80 is trivial, but to know your role and job itself takes time that can only be gained through experience.
It may be inconceivable, but what you or I find trivial may be a dream to the next and the notion that everyone knows their job at 80 is a fantasy. Withmore than 20 millionalmost 1 mil subscribed accounts you will get countless of players of different age, skill, knowledge, and aptitude for gaming. Some may be veterans to some where it's their first MMO ever to experience the first time.
What may take 30 minutes on a training dummy or in a guide, or simply running into a dungeon to learn a job/role can take months for the next player.
For me, everything in the game outside of never attempting Ultimates have been easy which may most likely be the case for you as well.
E8S to this day is a super easy fight, so long as the farm party doesn't become another LR prog due to other players.
The hardest thing I've ever encountered in this game was probably help teach an FC mate how to properly DPS (yes you read that correctly).
If it's a scenario where a Tank has the capability to do big pulls and 3 other members want to go fast, I could almost agree with you. In any other scenario such as where they weren't comfortable, didn't have the gear, still learning, ect - unfortunately I vehemently disagree.

If it's at level 71, I don't see why not. Unless they level skipped, the tank in a level 71 dungeon isn't new to tanking and most likely has experience in tanking 50,60 and 70 dungeons.
