To be fair I dont think most people actually know how game development actually works. I'll guess most people just get 2nd hand information and run with it, or one company works 1 way; therefore all companies work the same.

But yeah, even though I added to the conspiracy abit, yknow people like to fish for reasons

Yeah, it's been really frustrating seeing how many people have been whining about the new games lately without understanding any of the process involved in developing a game.

What did happen though is that after Heavensward, some of the lead developers did move from Final Fantasy XIV to Final Fantasy XVI. Hiroshi Takai (Asssitant Director), Mitsutoshi Gondai (Assistant Director), and Kazutoyo Maehiro (Lead Writer) took a step back in the development of Final Fantasy XIV and became its Development Supervisors onwards. Hiroshi Takai became the director for Final Fantasy XVI while Kazutoyo Maehiro is assumed to be the Lead Writer for it. Ryota Suzuki, who was a Battle Director for Capcom, was also hired for the Final Fantasy XVI project so they're not exactly taking everyone from the Final Fantasy XIV team.

In hindsight, Kazutoyo Maehiro taking a step back also allowed some of the younger developers like Natsuko Ishikawa to step up and take the Lead Writer role which resulted in what we have in Shadowbringers (best story in the game in my opinion). Game development do be like this sometimes.

To be fair not every game company in the world functions the same. Much less so for companies here in asia. Of course the ideal outcome would be hiring/getting a whole new team but as you know company are for profits and if they can cut cost they will cut cost.
You work in the game industry you should know well about this, or maybe western companies function differently? People here can work up to 14hrs a day or more and it's normal. Some even just sleep and stay in the office for 2 to 3 days. Westerners would cry foul and all but here? It's normal work day.

I would like to very well believe that it is a different team of course. But with all the issues 5.X has brought currently, you can't help but feel that there is something up. Also, don't forget that HW expansion they actually borrowed people from different division to work on it.
What makes you think SQEX won't do it here? Unless of course you have the evidence to back it up.
Look, before you go judgmental on people remember this, we all love FFXIV and we want the best for it for many years to come else nobody would bother to take the effort to even post here.
If you still don't believe me that content & features has been dropping the past few years, take a look at 3.1 - 5.3 trailer, i'm sure the video can speak many words.

Business Division 3 has been working on FFXVI for 3+ years. They are a separate business division than Business Division 5, which handles FFXIV, XI, and spinoff games from the MMO universe.

In the recent past, Square-Enix reduced its total number of business divisions, consolidating 3 and 5 under Yoshi P. They're still two different offices, and two different groups of developers with entirely different product and resource allocations, but they exist under one management lead, Naoki Yoshida.

Anybody who has been following Square Enix's structural developments since April 2019 is not surprised by any of this, this is not new information and most of us have known Yoshi-P was working on FFXVI for a year and a half, just by process of elimination.

Clearly a troll thread but to give a serious answer; simply no.

According to Wikipedia, Business Division 3 is now part of Creative Business Unit 1, not part of Yoshida's CBU 3.

Lalafells are just the best thing ever.
Why do you all play the potato?

I play it because moving with it feels faster.
It is also easier to get into a very small save space inbetween 2 aoes.

And I have so many more reason.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Yoshida always saying about how they're understaffed, but they can't find sufficient developers who meet their needs?

If they can't find more people to work on XIV then getting an entire new team for XVI does seem unlikely. Logically it would make sense that they'd be using people they already have (although admittedly that doesn't mean they'd necessarily all come from the XIV team)
